The Island Resort at Fort Walton Beach

Location, beach, pier, restaurants.

Waiting for check in after I was told I would receive a call. Breakfast only partial included. Paying for parking when anyone can park there, no supervision. Housekeeping never replaced paper cups or sheets in 4 days.

In one word - convenience Everything from the location of the room we booked to the options of food was convenient. We were right by the pool and we could easily get the beach, food, activities for our kids and the Boardwalk for exploring.

With convenience came the price. Everything was higher priced so we had to be more strategic about spending. We were also hoping for more flavor at the morning buffet, and we felt confused with the ticket every morning, because we said we had breakfast included but it still had a charge. I was concerned we were being charged. It seemed to all work out and we were not charged, but it was confusing.

Our room was in the beach house building and it was amazing!!! We had a walk out patio and it was great for beach access. Got to enjoy the breakfast buffet and bottomless mimosas at the restaurant. We enjoyed the concert, kids party and fireworks on Wednesday night. We did have an incident and had to call maintenance but the staff was amazing and they fixed our issue promptly with no hesitation. We had an amazing stay and will be repeat customers.

Getting a parking spot was a hassle but my husband always dropped me off and did the walking if he needed to. So it wasnt that big of a deal.

How close it is to the beach, comfortable, cleanliness, price compared to others

There are extra fees and temporary holds on your card that aren't completely disclosed and is a little confusing if you're not aware

There was water leaking from several hallway ceilings

Room was not clean when we got there and it was very humid and look old. Not like the pictures. All the add-ons are overpriced. Other places are better for a similar price
