La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Peru Starved Rock St Park

Location -needed something quick off the road but close so we could get back on right away for our drive.

Older property -was expecting a newer La Quinta. Little shabby and small.

I recently stayed at this hotel and overall had a decent experience, with a few areas that could definitely use improvement. The staff was very kind and welcoming, and check-in was quick and easy. The rooms were clean, neat, and generally well-kept, which made for a comfortable stay. The location is a big plus—it’s in a great area with plenty of restaurants, stores, and bars nearby, making it very convenient. The hotel itself looks fine upon entry, but some areas could benefit from better upkeep. The elevator had an off smell during my stay, and amenities like the ice machines and washer/dryer seem outdated—the dryer in particular didn’t work properly and only blew cold air. Breakfast was okay—pretty standard for a hotel, nothing particularly memorable. One thing that stood out, though, was that the high chairs were often dirty, which could use more attention. The pool area looked clean, although the water was a bit cool. The hot tub was less enjoyable, as it wasn’t very warm and had a strong chlorine smell. Overall, this hotel has a lot of potential thanks to its friendly staff, clean rooms, and great location, but improvements in maintenance and attention to detail would really enhance the guest experience.

Easily accessible off i80

I didn’t like how the staff didn’t change my reservation when requested and I didn’t like how the smoke alarm chirped all night when trying to sleep. I also didn’t like how my door barely closed and I had to force it to shut right.

Convenience. Staff. Large room. Good linens.

Shower/tub controls funky. Could not achieve decent water pressure for shower with so much flow thru tub faucet. The rooms on the back side / odd#s, are RIGHT on the highway so loud…

Affordable and near stores, restaurants, bowling, & starved rock

Shower leaked on bathroom floor, pool was very cold, limited breakfast. Other guest going to breakfast barefoot. Other guest very noisy in 2nd floor on Saturday night

Everything! We decided to stay an extra night and the staff was very accommodating.

Coffee was OK.

Frigid pool. Lukewarm hot tub. No soap in room. No working phone and no hot water for shower. Lady at front desk said" can't do anything about that. Takes a really long time to get warm/hot water". Wow. Do better. Certainly NOT worth the $120 I paid .

The breakfast was more than I expected. Our room was large and very clean and staff was especially helpful and friendly.

Pool area was a little cool.
