Ramada by Wyndham Strasburg Dover

We stayed at the Ramada in Strasburg, Ohio on October 10, 2025 (Room 214), and it was one of the most disturbing hotel experiences I’ve ever had. While the front desk staff were polite upon check-in and trying their best, the condition of the property was absolutely unacceptable. The entire building smelled like mold, stale cigarettes, and something chemical — almost like some kind of burning substance. The hallways were thick with the odor of marijuana coming from other rooms, and there were strange noises and activity from guests nearby that made us feel uneasy and unsafe. Inside our room, things were no better. There were stains and splatters of a red substance on the walls, a tic-tac-toe game drawn in pen or marker, and dirty curtains covered in dark stains. The overall cleanliness was appalling. In the hallway, we saw dead cockroaches, and the air just felt musty, and heavy This location desperately needs a deep cleaning and an inspection by health and safety officials. It’s shocking that this place still carries the Ramada name. I would never stay here again do yourself a favor and go anywhere else. We attempted to discuss with the front desk as we left an entire day early and paid for a different hotel that appeared in much better condition. Sadly, the staff person at the desk when we left (9am on 10/11) was of no help she essentially shrugged said that’s the policy (that we couldn’t discuss a refund or credit) and management wasn’t there. She didn’t even offer to message or speak with management. Do yourself a favor spend your money elsewhere! Include the picture my 6 year old took of one of the many roaches we encountered.

Staff was very courteous

The room was disgusting. There was visible mold coming out of the holes of and entirely covering the shower head. The smell of urine was so strong the minute you opened the bathroom door. There was no cover plate on the sovket next to the sink, leaving electrical wires exposed. This experience was so horrible.

The bed was the most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept in. The mattress had lumps in it.

Check in girl was great. Room was clean and bed was comfortable .

Room was old. Needs to be updated. Wallpaper peeling, breakfast was shut down by 9am only cereal and bagels,available milk was warm,(not kept on ice) juice was unplugged waffle maker unplugged. Woman at desk was rude so went out for breakfast

Breakfast food met expectations. Eggs, sausage, waffles - just fine.

1. Upon entering my room at check-in (Room 116), I immediately went back to front desk to tell them my room smelled like smoke. I was willing to stay in it, but I did not want Ramada to think I was the one who was smoking. 2. Breakfast - the coffee was undrinkable; I went next door to McDonalds for coffee.

The size of the room

There was a bad chemical smell in the room, we didn't have much hot water, The cook at the onsite restaurant had just quit and the young lady was trying to take care of everything herself. The next day I checked my bank account and was overcharged from the hotel. Three separate charges,

The hotel was not busy during our visit. We were in a room facing the busy road in front of the hotel listening to the traffic and trucks. The toilet seat was broken and not replaced after telling them. The tub was hard to get into to shower. Not what we expected. We will not return. The health dept closed the breakfast dining they served during our stay. Alot of problems due to new management and not addressing them.

It is real good except the hot tub needs fixed.
