Residence Inn by Marriott Bloomington by Mall of America

I ordered a room with fireplace but I think I should have been told the fireplace doesn’t work until Winter time though it was in the 40s as far as temperature. The carpet had large stains in several places Other than that I must say that I enjoyed my stay with husband and teenage daughter. Breakfast was good and plentiful.

We liked being able to walk across to Jake’s dining @ Courtyard for omelette breakfast buffet. What we didn’t like- pool advertised / not in service. And We were billed for parking for each night we stayed as extra fee when checking out. That seems bit ridiculous.

It was nice to find a hotel with two bedrooms and a gathering space.

The front desk staff was incredibly professional, approachable, patient and helpful! The household staff from mechanics and maintenance kept every area in great working order and clean! The pool was a big plus, in a great location, clean, and actually used by guests! And we cannot say enough about the breakfast staff! WOW! There was no time when there an empty dishes was found! They were both quick with the food and beverages. There was a high volume of guests partaking in the buffet and those two, were really on top of their game! Also, nice variety from day to day. The kitchen was stocked with the necessary equipment, and an ice maker in the freezer was a bonus! And a laundry room! With kids, this is so incredibly helpful!

From the website, I didn't know that the studio came with a 2-burner stovetop, which would have saved time on my pre-travel prep. Our son is autistic and I make his meals myself. If I knew that there was a stovetop, I wouldn't have to pre make the meals, just prep the components. Not a big deal, but I'll know to call and verify next time. Also, we booked late, so only able to get a studio with a pull-out couch. Not much you can do about this, but the mattress is thin like a pancake. I was more comfortable sleeping on the chaise part of the sofa than the bed. No surprise as I don't think there is such a thing as a comfortable sofa bed mattress.

The rooms were very dated. Carpet smelled very poorly of dog urine. Breakfast and lobby area are nice but that’s about as far as it goes with respect to a positive experience…The space was adequate for our needs but we were feeling too grossed out by the cleanliness to ever feel comfortable.

The hotel was clean the staff was great

It was a very nice hotel except the bug we foubd in our bed in room 307 that but my wife and we got no compensation.We gave the bug in a baggie to the front desk when we checked out in morning. This Was August 17th 2024 .

The service and employees were amazing!

Rooms are showing some age, and they could use some refreshing.
