Super 8 by Wyndham Portage

Evening clerk wasn't at desk upon arrival. Waited 10 min. His behavior was unwelcoming. Spoke fast and soft. New carpets throughout. Outdated room/decor. Rust on shower pole. The bed was very comfortable and good pillows. The room was very warm and stuffy upon arrival. The alarm clock kept making weird sounds on and off throughout the night. We tried adjusting all settings...idk. Breakfast/coffee was available. Juice, coffee, make a waffle or cereal were the choices. No protein or fruit option. Also as we left, three staff were in the hall. Cart was in the middle of the hall. They were annoyed we were there as we tried getting around the cart in the narrow space with our arms full of stuff. The only good thing was the bed..

We 4 (2 adults, 2 teens) stopped here on our way to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. Adequate lodging. Clean room. Quiet AC. Good shower. Very helpful staff. Average breakfast bar. For the price,it is quite good. No complaints.

Property OK. Not a good tv

The counter person was ok. The rooms sink drained very slow. Beds were very comfy. Slept well. Wife liked the eggs for breakfast.

I would definitely stay there again

They were trying but, the place had a bad smell. The employees were great but, the place was not up to par. The TV was not watchable, extremely small and old. Breakfast was ok though.

Breakfast was posted to be served until 10am but by 9:15 when my wife and I went to eat, there were no eggs or sausages and the desk clerk said they would not be replenishing. One of the reasons we chose to stay at the Super 8 was for the breakfast. Very disappointing.

Nothing

It had a very bad, over powering perfume smell throughout the building and rooms, there was a live spider in a web in the window sill. The clerk didn’t believe me when I told him and he laughed saying he had never heard of a complaint like that, he didn’t offer to dispose of the spider and web and said that house keeping wasn’t there. Also said to not tell the manager because she would kick us out for complaining. He did give us a room next door but the perfume was so strong, I was getting a headache and we checked out and went to another hotel. I told him I was going to reach out to booking. com and request a refund

The free breakfast was nice. It was nicely located by a walmart and kwik trip.

The room was dirty when we got there, the microwave had food/film in the bottom of it. The bathroom had dirt and hair all over the tub and leftover soaps in it. The fridge was dirty and leaking. The lights were burnt out in the vanity and in the lamps.

The staff was very nice.

The room was dusty, the bathroom floor was dirty, mold on the shower curtain and the window didn't lock.
