Women at front desk was not friendly and the hotel smells like cigarette smoke

Took about 30 minutes for check in. The clerk at front desk didn’t know what he was doing. Despite giving a card with my Wyndham rewards number a strange number appeared on my invoice and I was NOT given rewards. Clerk did not listen when I protested. Room and property are old and worn out. Furniture in room was old and damaged, not a comfortable room. If I had not driven so much that day, I would have gone somewhere else. No breakfast or coffee the next morning. The operators of this property were not friendly and did not seem to care about guests. I don’t understand how Wyndham lends its name to a property like this!!

Bedding was clean but the furniture is in need of replacement.

didnt end up staying there. Hole in floor in front of bed, and a broken chair. Also linens were filthy, asked for refund and received it> Hotel was advertised as a wyndamn Super 8?

There was no breakfast for two the next morning, not even coffee. Arrived to our room with the door open, walked in to see filthy stained carpet with dry dog food on it, holes in the curtains and lamp shade, holes in bathroom door on both sides (as if someone had punch it) and bathroom had a vomitus smell with something on the floor on backside of toilet. This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at, the lobby was not appealing and cigarette smoke could be smelt. I would advise no one to ever stay there. My rating a 0/10. Was not as I had expected and then to not even have the breakfast offered as was stated on my reservation was just the icing on the cake.

We just got home from a week-long trip. I wanted you to know I booked a room at the Super 8 by Wyndam in Springfield, Missouri, for one night on August 8, 2022, on our way to Terre Haute, Indiana to see my very ill brother. The on-line bill reflected $68.05, and it was in good faith that we accepted this amount. I should have made time to look at their overall rating which reflected poorly on them, but I was concerned about getting to my ill brother. We had our two small dogs with us and the hotel was listed as "pet friendly." We arrived and the proprietor, I believe her name was Ruth, said she had to add an additional $20 per dog to our bill. I was extremely upset at this as on the bill notice I received and the one I showed her, there was no indication of any additional payments for pets! When I told her I was going to make a complaint about this, her response was, "I DON'T CARE"! She told me I should have went to their page to see the pet stipulations. She had a bad attitude and was extremely rude to us, and by then it was much too late to get another hotel that would accept dogs, as well called others hotels in the area. When I checked out the next morning, my bill was $150.00, 81.95 more that I budgeted for!!!! The room was crap and in no way did it reflect the photographs we saw. I took pictures of the room condition. I could not stay to argue with them as my brother was in critical condition by that time and we really had to go. We feel totally ripped off. I want my $81.95 returned to my account and Ruth and the others reprimanded for their terrible customer service skills.

The whole building was awful, but then you go inside and there is an odor like no other. The rooms were horrific. There were holes in the door that resembled a fight that involved kicking and punching. Holes in the wall and what looked like old blood stains on the carpet. The room I was offered was outside and the only one outside. It was terrifying. The workers were around the door all the time and were rude.

When we got there we got charged an extra $10 for each pet for no other reason than "some Super 8s charge more". We did not receive the roll out bed because he insisted it wouldn't fit in the room. There was no free breakfast in the morning or any kind of breakfast at all. When it came to me checking out he didn't come when I rang the bell so I had to call him and he came right out of the office🙄

Looking for cheap price so wasn't expecting perfection, but place was nicer than most I've stayed in with similar ratings. Was expecting some sort of breakfast between 6 and 9, based on website. Not sure if it was a staff shortage, COVID, or lack of site update, but only had coin-only vending machines. Not a deal breaker, but for cost paid other places do more in that regard. Might have settled for the extra $10 for the other place closer to my destination with more anemities had I known.

This property was clean, but it is badly in need of renovation, especially the bathroom.
