Quality Inn South

Here is the whole story: So, I arrived in Indpls close to midnight and took a taxi from the airport to the hotel, the so-called Quality Inn on Harding St. Right away, I noticed it wasn't the one downtown within a block or two of the Flixbus stop  that I had agreed to with the reservation center. This one was on the edge of Indpls near a truck stop and a bar closed because of criminal activity.  It was seedy and dirty with a distraught woman at the desk surrounded by several other stranded customers. She was on the phone shouting and cursing talking I believe with a manager.  She inrerrupted herself to ask my name and to tell me they had no room for me and there were several others in the same situation lined up before me.  (It was already close to midnight and I am a 75-year old woman.)  And yes, I had a confirmed reservation and yes I had called to say I would be arriving late because my plane had been delayed and yes the reservation agent had reassured me after checking with Quality Inn that it would be OK to arrive any time, but no there was no room for me: she was there alone, several rooms were locked because no one had cleaned them and there was no one to help her and there were others waiting  Back to her manager on the phone: @*&$#, why am I here alone? Back to me; you can sit over there if you wish to wait--an adjacent room with rickety tables and chairs and a blaring TV on the wall and cockroaches that you sense even when they are not visible. A young man was lurking there who had a room and wanted a key replaced because his was not working but was afraid to ask. I sat down with three other men with backpacks in the "breakfast area" and I first called the reservation center. I explained that they had already cashed the $147 room charge and there was no room for me there. They looked for a room in the surrounding area and didn't find anything. They asked if I wanted to cancel and I did in the hopes of getting a refund. Among those stranded with me were two very nice professional Nascar racecar drivers who tried to help me find a room. They had a race the following day in Indianapolis. One was doing a beer run for the two of them and joking that they would need it after this hotel craziness. They found hotel rooms for themselves but couldn't help me. I called a series of hotels and finally found a room at the Crown Plaza for an exorbitant price. It was 2 am by then and I managed to get an Uber to get there. This all happened on the night of July 25th, 2025.

This property was terrible, we didn't even get check in into this hotel. Staff was rude , neighbor was very unsafe.

It was comfortable for the price.

The shower didn’t work properly.

When I got there I checked in like normal. Got my room cards and went to my room. Went to plug in my phone to charge somebody had left their computer chords still plugged in. I went to grab a hand towel and it was dirty. There was used soap bars still in the shower from a previous person. My kids opened the closet like they do at every hotel and there was somebody’s dirty clothes laying on the bottom of the closet. When it was time for bed we flipped the blankets down and there were black spots all over the blankets. The top blanket had a stain on it that the pillows were on top of to try and cover it. You could tell that our room had not been cleaned in awhile

staff at this hotel are excellent and super friendly and helpful. This was my second stay here and I would readily book here again.

I love how the people was so nice and the cook Shea was very nice to me and my kids
