Weaver House

Four old girlfriends on our annual reunion weekend so 4 double bedrooms and two bathrooms plus downstairs loo was ideal. Spacious enough for 4 but if 4 couples (8 people ) stayed I think the living room would feel cramped. Very clean and good to have a garden where we enjoyed drinks on a summer evening. We ate out and mainly chatted to catch up on news so didnt use many of the amenities so I can't comment on TV etc but there were plenty of glasses, mugs, plates etc so would be fine if you wanted to self-cater. Big shout out to a charming and helpful lady in the local convenience store which was almost next door and handy to get essentials like milk and wine. Also to a welcoming neighbour (James) who said hello on our second day and showed us his beautiful garden oasis. Both made us feel welcome to Chester which is not always the case with short rentals. The best bit - the property is incredibly close to everything, the Rows and multiple shops and restaurants are steps away and under 10 minutes to the river or Cathedral.

Looks a little tired compared to the photos and perhaps needs some homely touches especially in the bedrooms which were a little sparse. No dishwasher tablets seems a little stingy as who is going to buy a pack for a weekend away and to leave a few costs pennies and gives a feeling of a generous and welcoming host. A plus is that it's so close to the centre, the con is that there is a little noise at night with revellers walking home especially if you sleep in one of the front two bedrooms. It really didn't bother me (visiting from London) but a friend who lives in a more rural area found it noisy.

Clean, spacious, comfortable with a very well equipped kitchen. Perfect location & walking distance from everything around the centre of Chester including the River, City Walls, shops, cathedral, theatre & cinemas. Lots to see & explore. Owners very responsive to messages

Too many dining chairs around the table made it seem a little over furnished. A parking space in front of the house would have added a lot. It could do with somewhere to hang coats downstairs-hooks or a coat-stand. A chair in the bedrooms would add to the comfort, either to sit on or drape clothes over when getting dressed.

Location was excellent for the racecourse and city centre. Plenty of room for 6 adults.

The house is amazing, a 4 bed townhouse with plenty of space and it is so well looked after, it was absolutely immaculate. I couldn't believe the location of it, it was so central to the city centre, one street away from the main stretch of pubs and shops and restaurants. 6 of us stayed in the house comfortably and every one of us loved it and will definitely return. We visit Chester a lot and I now wouldn't stay anywhere else, the hosts were brilliant too at answering our many questions.

Loved everything, the only minor thing is not having parking at the house. There is a car park nearby though that is only £6.50 per 24hrs so that's great for parking but it is the unloading and packing up of the car, but as I say this was a minor issue and we were happy once we had unloaded the car and found parking spaces.

You can’t be any more central which was exactly what we wanted. Big bedrooms with plenty of space for all our stuff.

A few basics were missing; like oven gloves and kitchen spray for wiping surfaces. The upper floors have very creepy floorboards.
