GiliZen Resort - Private Pool Villas

Todo! La villa era increíble, perfecta tal y como se muestra en las fotografías. El desayuno supero mis expectativas! En cantidad y variedad! Muy recomendable

This is my second time at Gilizen. I love the pool and the atmosphere. The location is also easy to reach, not too far from the beach, but not too close either. The rooms are well-appointed and clean. The staff are friendly and very helpful. If you want to snorkel, just ask the Gilizen team, they are very helpful in finding good spots for snorkeling and swimming with turtles (if you are lucky)

Struttura sporca e mal tenuta,non fatevi ingannare dalle foto. Scarafaggi formìche e ragni nella stanza e nel bagno,la struttura è situata in una pessima zona in mezzo a cumuli di sporcizia. E mal tenuta ragnatele piastrelle rotte e acqua stagnante che crea una odore terribile nella stanza,ti ritrovi formiche nel letto mentre dormi inaccettabile. La soluzione del proprietario della struttura è stata te ne vai e ti restituisco i soldi,ma alle isole gili ad agosto per un soggiorno di 5 giorni è impossibile trovare posto. Ho pagato tutto fino all ultimo centesimo extra compresi ( bici e motorino elettrico vanno presi per forza per la posizione in cui sta l’hotel ). 5 minuti dopo il mio check out mi arriva la notifica di Booking per confermare che non avevo soggiornato al gili zen resort,il proprietario poco furbo ha provato a non farmi lasciare la recensione. Le recensioni vanno fatte per aiutare i viaggiatori come me e non farli incappare in spiacevoli sorprese. Struttura da due stelle non certo da quattro.

Extremely Disappointing – Unprofessional Behavior from the Owner I was already very disappointed with our stay due to several serious issues — the air conditioning didn’t work at all, even after repeatedly asking the staff to fix it. Our room was never cleaned once during the entire stay, the sheets and towels were never changed, and dirty breakfast plates were left in the room for days. But what made the experience even worse was the owner’s attitude. Instead of listening to our feedback and trying to understand how to improve things for future guests, the owner actually argued with us about our complaints. There was no willingness to help, no apology, and no effort to make things right — just confrontation and blame-shifting. This level of unprofessionalism was shocking and completely unacceptable. Bottom line: Poor service, no basic cleanliness, and an owner who refuses to accept any criticism. I would strongly advise avoiding this hotel.

Terrible Experience – Avoid This Hotel I honestly had one of the worst stays ever at this hotel. From the moment we checked in, things started going downhill fast: ❌ Air Conditioning Was Completely Broken The A/C didn’t work at all and it was hot the whole time. We asked the staff multiple times (seriously, several times) to fix it, and every time they said they would but absolutely nothing happened. No follow-up, no apologies — just empty promises. ❌ Zero Housekeeping Throughout our entire stay, no one ever came to change the sheets or towels. Not even once. We also never saw anyone attempt to clean the room. ❌ Old Plates Just Left There To make things worse, they left our breakfast plates in the room for days. Nobody came to pick them up and they just sat there, making the room smell disgusting. Honestly, this place was a full nightmare. The lack of service, total disregard for basic cleanliness, and the fact that the staff just ignored repeated requests made the whole stay incredibly frustrating and uncomfortable. Bottom line: I strongly recommend staying somewhere else — this hotel clearly doesn’t care about its guests or even the most basic standards of hospitality.

Staff were beautiful.

Location is terrible. Dirt road to the resort. Rubbish piles burning every day. Expensive. Air con didn’t work. Power cut out. Bathroom smelt very BAD. Cot was mouldy, and had a doona blanket folder up as the mattress.
