GiliZen Resort - Private Pool Villas

What’s not to like?!?!

It was just amazing.

This was our second time coming here and it felt like coming home again. We like the location, the privacy and the outdoor area with the deep pool and the loungers.

The breakfast was a bit better last time and it seems that they were a little confused about who ordered what this time.

Gilizen is a fantastic place to stay. The rooms are beautiful, they are very clean and the staff couldn’t be more accommodating. Masran and Zen were absolutely brilliant, they couldn’t be more accommodating or helpful. The breakfast was gorgeous and delivered to your room everyday. We hired bikes to cycle the island. You are very close to the beach and restaurants, it’s a little bit of a walk to the main shopping area and cafes so I would hire a bike as we didn’t do that until our third day and then realised it’s much easier! They will arrange snorkelling trips and boat trips for you as well. Overall, beautiful rooms, wonderful staff, yummy breakfast and the island is stunning!

Friendly staff, very private

Villas are located down dusty dirt roads, no problem, you will need a good torch once the sun is down. The only other downside was the breakfast, which was very inconsistent. Our first day was amazing, the second day was well below average, and the third day was acceptable.

The private pool. Staff were friendly and accommodated a birthday cake request. Bike hire arranged. Breakfast was nice and a nice touch for the floating breakfast at no additional cost.

The place needs some attention to details in terms of renovation. Starting to look shabby around the sides. The bathroom has lots of gaps between the wall and ceiling meaning lots of mosquitoes. The mosquito net on the bed needs replacing, lots of stains, rips and doesn't fit around the bed meaning gaps so pretty pointless. The lighting in the room is not good for doing makeup. The pillows are lumpy and need replacing. When it rains the whole place floods as it is all one level and water enters the rooms. Breakfast was nice but the coffee so bad. One morning we asked for oat milk with our cappuccino and we were given a coffee made from 3 in 1 pre mix. For the price I have stayed in much nicer accommodation.
