GiliZen Resort - Private Pool Villas

The location - although is a bit far from the port but is close to the beach in the north of the island. There are some restaurants close by. The pool is nice and refreshing.

The bathroom has a skyline window without glass, this results mosquitoes came into the room during the night. Also the bathroom is a bit of rustic and required some refurbishment urgently.

There were mice, and cockroaches within the bedroom and bathroom of the Vila every day. During the night sometimes we could hear the mice on the ceiling, we warned the manager and nothing was done The pool was not clean and had several insects One day they didn’t even come to pick the leftovers from breakfast, and we returned at 7pm to find it all there rotting during the day in the middle of all the heat and sun Also several days not even the bedroom was cleaned, and the place is located in the middle of a very dusty and unpaved surroundings so it gets very dirty very quickly

Private pool was amazing and the staff were excellent. Anything we needed from them, they were on hand to help straight away. Air conditioning is good. Bed was comfy.

I think the word Villa maybe isn’t suitable. There is an open air bathroom where loads of insects can get in. Also the fact it’s made out of wood, you are awoken by the mosque loudspeakers every morning at 4am - this can last 15-45 mins. It may not be the hotels fault but it’s difficult to sleep. Road is a bit messy/incomplete getting there.

The staff were extremely lovely and they provided us with very useful informations about the island (the map, spots for the best sunset, the best restaurants, where to see turtles). Their smoothie bowl for breakfast is very good!

Although we don’t think this property was the best value for our money. Bathroom was very outdated and it needs renovations asap. The villa was lovely but it was pretty small. Breakfast was very average apart from the smoothie bowl. We were most disappointed with the coffee selection because they provided only instant versions (of cappuccino, caffe latte) and they weren’t good.

The staff was more than helpfull. When we got to the place reseption person gave us a map and explaned where to find good food, where to snorkel and where to get the best view of the sunset. Breakfast was always on time and there was plenty to eat. Location of the premises was on the quiter side of the island, which for us was perfect. The island is very small so it was easy to get around despite the fact that location was more remote.
