Casa Altamar

Absolutely everything. It is HEAVEN ON EARTH. Located outside of the noisy area (taxi is about 500-600 MXN to/from Tulum Centro), the staff is incredibly welcoming and caring. The view... the most beautiful sunrises I've ever seen, the pool and the beach are so beautiful and natural (so peaceful!). It is the best place for a relaxing, intimate-meditative vacation. I would definitely be back!

Honestly, the tiny things aren't worth mentioning. It is absolutely perfect. Thank you Arturo and the amazing team!

The hotel is definitely more of a boutique which I absolutely loved. The picturesque b with the incredible view amd being right on the beach 😍. Loved my room with all of the decor the bed; the bed was super comfortable and everything so clean and perfectly cooled room with a great terrace with a view of the shore. The staff were so attentive/ helpful and made the stay so lovely and food/ drink was delicious (definitely try the margaritas!)

I loved the food however I do wish they had a more expansive menu and that there were on-site staff after business hours. lt was a bit off a hassle to check out as I had to catch my shuttle to the airport around 7:30am and I had to search for a contact number to reach someone as there is no front desk. I would recommend having access to essentials like an iron or steamer for travelers.

Arturo, Javier, and all the staff were so friendly and helpful, and the food was AMAZING--we had all our meals there--selection of music playing was always good too. The place was so peaceful, clean, beautiful ocean for swimming (a Manta Ray leaped out of the water and then swam right by us!) kayaking, walks on beach, or just lounging in the hammocks. Enjoyed the rooftop for beautiful sunsets, and sunrise yoga. Bonus: a 4-minute walk to Cenote Manti (Casa) where we snorkeled right past Pancho the croc!

It would have been nice to have snorkels/fins available to use or rent, since we didn't bring any with us and the snorkeling was apparently amazing so we missed out on that :-(. Hot water from the shower is an issue (we were advised of it when we checked-in), though it didn't bother us much since a cool shower was always welcomed after a hot day on the beach, but others may not have been ok with that--or the intermittent power outages (never lasting more than a few seconds/minute). It didn't affect us much, but if you're planning to do work while there (why would you!) and need consistent wifi, that's something to consider, I guess. Finally, we didn't have a car, and the hotel is about a 20-minute ride into town ($30 US), so factor in that cost to get around if you don't have your own transportation. We were happy to just hang out at the hotel/beach though.

This place is amazing, it’s a stunning location with world class service and food. Snorkeling in the protected bay was the highlight for us. Crystal clear water, no seaweed and tons of marine life. I can’t believe the deal we got on the place. I would have paid more and been completely happy. Excellent value away from the crowds in Tulum proper.

I really enjoyed staying a week.The hotel is very clean and beautiful. The food was very good.I ate at the hotel almost everyday. Delicious! Arturo was super nice. He greeted me and my son upon arrival. Very welcoming! Arturo and his staff was excellent. Great hotel, food and staff.

- depending on the room you’re only three steps away from the beach - the staff is very attentive and friendly - free water - there is a reef directly in front of the hotel which is perfect for snorkelling - free kayak or SUP rental - good restaurant attached for breakfast, lunch and dinner with a great drink menu too

Nothing bad about the hotel, but just be aware that you’re pretty off the grid and if you don’t have a car you rely on the hotel restaurant for food and drinks (taxis are super expensive to the city center).

Casa Altamar was absolutely a wonderful surprise. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, going out of their way when we had any problem. The location is wonderful, your own private little paradise away from the crowds, yet close enough to pop into town for dinner. We really enjoyed our stay... with a special thankyou to Arturo.

nothing really... perhaps a small mini store for items like water or snacks could be useful?

- The facilities are very good, large spaces, the restaurant is very good and authentic. - I had a few issues, but they know how to listen to customers, and the people who work there were very nice. - I can recommend this place without problem, my girlfriend had a massage, and she told me that it has been one of the best she has ever had. - We took the room facing the sea, and we had a magnificent view from the room. - the equipment to be able to go to the sea such as the kayak are free for clients

there is not really a reception, and in fact after 10 at night there is no one who can help you in case of any problem (it was my case the first day)
