"Great spacious apartment in fabulous and quiet location"

8.0

Location and size of apartment. The decor is very tasteful and the furniture is very comfortable. 2nd time we have stayed as we like it so much. Spacious bedrooms with good quality bedding provided.

Some issues with cleanliness. Took us half an hour to find the tv remote as it was hidden underneath the sofa cushions - had to remove all the cushions to find it . Both sofas had not been hoovered as they were full of crumbs as was the rug in the living room. Dirty nappy left in bathroom bin. Bedside table broken with shelf hanging off. No baking trays provided. Curtains on main door hanging down from the hooks which need updating. Having raised these issues it didn’t detract from our stay which we really enjoyed .

"Nice short stay in comfortable, spacious property."

7.0

Good location. Spacious. Canal view. Good WiFi.

Issues with parking. The allocated parking space is very tight and due to other parked cars we were not able to use it. The property is better accessed on city road where there is unrestricted parking at certain times of day. This is not the fault of the owner who was extremely apologetic.

"Would stay here again if living room furniture was replaced."

Great location right on the canal and close to everything. Comfortable beds.

Furniture in living room was lumpy and falling apart.

"great location ideal for walking into town, cleanliness needs improved"

6.0

The location is ideal, an easy walk into the town centre, its quite enough and TV is a decent size. Water is hot and bed is very comfortable. The sofa has been replaced so a wee bit better, though a chair may be better than the one there

We arrived and the place was very hot, Had to open windows as could not find the thermostat, when I did find the wireless thermostat, it was set at 27 degrees. No instructions for the heating. The fridge I thought was not very cold, tired to alter it, gave up as no instructions for it. cleanliness lets the place down. Cooker and the baking trays are really dirty. worktops are sticky and drawers are also dirty. other areas also needing bits of TLC, bathroom has rusty cabinets, really dusty wardrobes, just generally looks tatty rest is not that bad, woodwork and walls etc could do with a paint, the blinds are a bit worn and broken in places, just a bit of maintenance needed At least the sofa has been replaced, though a grey one I lifted the cushions, to find crumbs hairs and confectionery wrappers parking is a bit of a squeeze mainly due to one car not going fully forward, making getting into the allocated space rather tight, even worse getting out if the other adjacent spaces is occupied the outside area really lets the place down, the balcony has artificial grass matting. it has filthy furniture,, and it don't look sturdy. Not a place you would want to sit as covered in cobwebs and has a net spread over the railings (no doubt for the pigeons) but still not very inviting. The patio area accessed from the bedroom to the canal side, is covered in weeds and again furniture though not as bad is still cheap and not sturdy. I see a previous review mention people can stare in. I see what they mean, when sitting on sofa in living area, and the curtains are open, they can see right in, some reflective coating would perhaps be put on glass, or simple net curtains ? there is blinds but closing them defeats having the view yourself apparently the owners had it booked to get a longer clean after we left, as I presume since they offered us an extra night, it was not booked after we left. so be interesting to see later rewires

"Close to Chester centre on Canal side"

8.0

Great location close to Chester centre, easy to walk to the walls. Parking for one car was good and reasonably secure, but tight to get into. Kitchen was fine with nice view over the canal. Heating kept us toasty. Showers were good.

Couch was uncomfortable (but we were advised a new one is on order). Some TLC and updates would be helpful.

"Chester is a magical place to stay and this little house is a star"

9.0

The house is situated on City Rd close to the railway station and several bars and restaurants. It is only a 10 minute walk to the city centre (Eastgate). The back of the house opens directly on the canal side. The contrast between the busy City Rd at the front and the dreamy pastoral canal scene at the back is extraordinary and worth the stay just for that.

Tv reception not great but that really didn't matter - who needs to watch TV on holiday
