Loftsome Bridge Hotel

Food lovely. Presentation good, staff attentive Stayed in cute cottage overnight. Parking close to accommodation

Late check in was no problem. Thank you very much. Hotel was lovely, quiet, clean comfortable with an excellent FYorkshire breakfast.

Beautiful setting, will definitely stay again. We have stayed in a few hotel/ guest houses nearby but this will ve our number one choice in future. One or two minor gripes: shower list all water halfway through which was awkward but no real explanation given other than everyone myst be using the shower at the same time. Continebral breakfast was very disappointing. Boxed cereal and no 'freshly baked bread abd pastries '. Unfortunately this wasn't mentiobed when we ordered. The cooked breakfast was very good and there was a plentiful supply of tea and coffee.

Beautiful building in a stunning location. The staff were very friendly,helpful and accommodating. The cottage’s were very spacious had everything you could need provided for you and the bed was very comfortable

The only negative thing which obviously they have no control over is insects outside which is to be expected as the spectacular surroundings are fields ponds etc so it’s best not to open the windows which was fine as it wasn’t very hot outside but I imagine during hot weather the rooms would be very hot and possibly uncomfortable

The location was not too far from York but was in a rural location and was extremely quiet, a lovely change from home. Also the room and bathroom were a very good size. I could hardly believe that we could see the busy road in the distance but couldn't hear a thing in the room ( room 2 at the front). Great double glazing! Staff were also very friendly. Would stay here again of in the area

We found the pillows to be a bit to soft / flat for our personal liking so woke with a stiff neck. Also, a continental breakfast was advertised and was also on the menu, but none was available on both mornings and that was what my husband wanted so a bit disappointed. Also, although someone had contacted my by phone before our stay to ask if we wanted a table for an evening meal, and I'd said no, I then had several missed calls and an answer phone message on our first day there, while out in York, to ask the same thing. Probably because there were only about 9 people in the whole hotel so they needed to know if it was worth cooking or not, which is understandable.

Very fresh and refurbished to a modern taste and good standard.

Staff were sparse and disorganised. My breakfast didn’t arrive, after a 25 minute wait I gave up and left. Staff didn’t seem to have been trained to remove dirty plates and replace missing items from buffet. In empathy with the industry I know hotels struggle to get staff these days but the mistakes being made are basics of hospitality.

Staying here was a pleasant surprise. I find it hard to believe this place has not been completely refurbished since 2021. The paint work looks new. As do the carpets. Our bedroom was perfectly peaceful. We stayed in room 4 which has a four poster bed. The ensuite was large and spacious and elegantly decorated. The staff were super friendly including our waitress at our evening meal and at our breakfast. The meals we received were very good we would recommend eating at the hotel. I cannot think of any reason to book anywhere else than Loftsome Bridge and that's what we will be doing next time we wre in the area.
