Food was good when available. Staff very pleasant and Lauren in particular was excellent with her help and her skills

There was no hot water in the morning as the boiler was not on early enough. No contact number on room phone to speak to reception so had to physically go there to explain issue with the water in our room. The location is quite a distance from other restaurants so when contacted by the hotel prior to our journey we were advised to book for dinner which was great. However on the last night the chef was apparently no available and no meals were offered and unfortunately we were not informed. After returning to hotel that evening we had them to make arrangements to travel elsewhere which we arranged but then could not get a taxi so the last evening evening of our stay was spent in our room following by another cold shower the next day. Poor lack of communication and dissemination of information. Management seemed indifferent to the situation

Convenient location for a visit to see family. Plenty of parking space and welcoming staff.

A lovely hotel in a great country setting. Nice grounds and a river at the end of the garden. Hotel nicely decorated and very clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. I only had breakfast at the hotel but that was top notch. I would definately stay there again.

The staff were lovely the rooms were very tired needed a refresher The food although was very nice portions were tiny no enough for a child and very pricey Unfortunately after third stay at hotel Will not go back which is a shame new managers need to address shortcomings

Lovely and clean hotel in a peaceful setting. Stayed one night as part of a tour around Northern engineers, used the restaurant for our evening meal around £20-25 per person so not overly priced.

Fabulous hotel. The food was first class, the staff were friendly and the service was excellent. We stayed in one of the cottages. everything was excellent, clean and comfortable, all the facilities you would except were available. If I am being pedantic, the decor in the cottage was dated compared to the main hotel, but some may love the styling. We will definitely stay again

Checked in and given key to room. On entering it was not the room type booked and paid for. Was given an external cottage room. Booked a four poster bedroom. Eventually was given the room as my confirmation but said it hadn't shown on their system. Was then informed everything shut at 4pm on a Sunday so no restaurant for food and no bar for drinks. None of this information is on any of their websites so no pre warning. Hotel was shut down at 4. No restaurant no bar and no reception. Doors were locked and nobody available on the property. Bedroom smelt frousty also.

Overall a very pleasant stay, it was a very hot day so the room was hot but it did have portable fan. Welcome and service by the staff was excellent. The main entrance door has a strong spring on it so very noisy when people allowed it to slam shut. Will stay again and try a cottage.
