Avenue Inn Downtown San Luis Obispo

I think there must have been homeless guy living on the roof. Banging noises the entire night right overhead. I slept about 3 hours.

Shopping and dinner was super convenient!

Great location to downtown-nice place, and clean. Office guy seemed in a big hurry to get me out of there. $5 to leave my bag in the office for a couple of hours. Although they accommodated everything I asked, they made me feel like I was asking a lot of them for simple things

We have been staying here in the last 5 years, it’s close to everything and downtown SLO. The people that run it are friendly and courteous. The shower has been updated it’s nice and clean. Thank You

Rooms are basic but adequate. Coffee is avaliable in the lobby from 7am-10am. Walking distance to the downtown and Thursdays farmers market. I had a downstairs room. I could hear every footstep in the room above me. If you are a light sleeper, ask for an upstairs room.

Avenue Inn is an incredible deal. While the exterior is not impressive, the rooms are clean and well appointed. For the low prices they charge, Avenue offers a great deal. And I particularly love the fact that they don't try to make it up through hidden charges. For example, at the front desk they offer $1 cans of Coke and other beverages as long as you pay cash. Presumably, they are just buying some cases cases from Costcos and reselling them for a ~50 fifty cent markup. But compare that with you a typical hotel Coke which costs ~$3, and it's a pleasure being at a place that tries to do right by its guests in that way.

This was a last minute booking for us. We literally booked it 20 minutes before our after-hours arrival on a Sunday night. We got there, it was well lit, we called the after hours # and were greeted within minutes. Parking on site close to our room, and complementary. The room was perfect, clean and modern. There were vending machines for snacks and drinks also in well lit areas. The location is great freeway close, but also in a nice safe quiet area , on a great street where you can walk around and find restaurants, a coffee shop and things things of that nature. They did have coffee and some protein bars and things of that nature in the office in the morning when we were checking out. We would definitely come back again or recommend to fellow travelers.

Highly recommend the Avenue Inn - it's quiet, comfortable and very close walking distance to the downtown. I appreciate Jesse's friendliness and recommendations when checking in.
