Amari Koh Samui

I’d love to give a 5 star as the staff are so lovely but there were a couple of things that could be better and I like to be as fair as possible. Staff: Wonderful. All of them, from reception to pool to restaurant to housekeeping to the road crossing guys all had a smile and friendly word always. It was my husbands birthday when we stayed and the maid wrote a little message on the mirror and the hotel gave him a cake. Both much appreciated and a nice touch. We did the Thai cooking class and had a lovely time. There were just the two of us and we ate what we cooked. Mai who took the class was great fun and you get to keep your aprons and you get a certificate. Room: we stayed in room 3223 on the Thai Village wing with views of the middle pool. The room was clean and serviced daily, you decided when towels and bedding were swapped out. Housekeeping could be quite late, we returned from a trip at 4pm and it hadn’t been done yet so I rang to ask for someone to come and do the room so we could shower etc without being interrupted and this was done straight away. Pools: all pools and the surrounding areas are beautifully maintained and kept clean by the staff who are constantly clearing up after people. Sunbeds: comfortable but rare as hens teeth at certain times of the day. On our first day we wandered for an hour trying to get a bed over all 3 pool areas and in the end removed towels which we were told had been placed early morning and then never used. By then it was 2pm. No one ever came to use the beds so I’m glad we removed the towels and used them but we do think this is something that should be “policed” by the hotel. There’s clearly not enough sunbeds for all so people should not be able to reserve them and then never use them. Towels removed after a period of time is fair and works at other hotels we’ve been to. Restaurant: breakfast was plentiful with absolutely loads of choice. If you couldn’t find something for breakfast then you’d be the fussiest person on earth. We went to the Chinese new year buffet and this was nice though the food was rather lukewarm. Atmosphere: the hotel is quite central and we walked easily into town and to nearby restaurants and I also had both a manicure and pedicure which were such great value at a nearby beauty shop called Golden Studio. The hotel is very child friendly and there were a lot of small children in residence when we stayed. This is not a problem unless you want peace and quiet. Our next hotel is adults only so we’ll get that there 😂

Stayed here February for 10nights was picked up by hotel at samui airport all on time very comfortable vehicle. Check in very smooth expect to pay 10.000 baht room holding deposit on arrival it was canceled and my account credited 2 days after we left .Approx 10min walk to chaweng or flag a local red bus down for 200baht .Our rooms where ocean view and excellent good selection for breakfast and nothing was a problem highly

Choosing this hotel was the best decision of our lives, both for our holiday and for planning our wedding. From the very beginning, everyone was incredibly helpful and supportive. They went through every single detail with us thoroughly, and whenever we wanted to make a change, nothing was ever a problem. The staff were extremely kind and very child-friendly. Our big day was absolutely perfect, and we are truly grateful from the bottom of our hearts. When we left, we even received a touching farewell gift, and everyone who had been involved in the organization came to say goodbye to us personally. Thank you so much — we send our love and gratitude to Nanthawan Channara and the entire team.❤️

This hotel is marketed as 5-star, but it definitely doesn't feel like one. Food quality is low overall, and the breakfast buffet is disappointing — nothing like you'd expect from a top-tier resort. Rooms are okay, but housekeeping comes way too late (around 5 pm), which is inconvenient. The biggest issues are the guests: lots of loud, mannerless behavior, especially from Israeli and South African groups. People reserve sunbeds early like 'Karens,' and there's open weed smoking on the beach. If you want peace and quiet, stick to the garden wing — it's much calmer there. Breakfast staff sometimes over-help by carrying plates for some customers(even though it's self-service), but ask for a simple glass of water and they'll remind you it's self-service. Overall, not recommended if you're seeking a relaxing, upscale 5-star experience

Beautiful hotel everything was lovely clean staff are absolutely lovely penn noir staff amazing nothing is a problem here and they so so happy to be there for you ❤️ my only concern is evening in hotel it's empty nobody having drinks or food realized 2nd night it's expensive a soft drink and small wine was £16 2 bottles of water was £5.50 not hotels fault but we didnt have a evening there and seems everybody else doesn't either such a shame as it's so relaxing to sit there of an evening ♥️ that's my only negative otherwise it's a beautiful hotel xx

Location excellent on edge of town, but close enough. Relaxed atmosphere overall, though a little lively on arrival on a Friday afternoon. Room excellent, some delay in checking in but compensated for by very helpful manager and her team.

Good location at northern part of Chaweng. Quieter area with the main hub only 10 mins walk away. We stayed in the Thai Village part of hotel with chalet style rooms. Three pools so good facilities.

We rated the Amari 4 out of 5 . The Amari had three nice pools . One with a fantastic beach view . We stayed in the Garden Wing village . Rooms were clean and spacious enough for two people . Beds comfortable and very wide. Our balcony on the 3rd floor had a nice pool view !. Rooms on 2nd & 3rd floor excess is by stairs only ( No lifts ) . Breakfast selection was great, Where we think the Amari could improve, The welcome was nice - checking out was not so nice . We wasn’t asked how our stay was ? Thanks for your custom . We’d like to welcome you back . Etc etc . On checking out we were just asked - have you got everything out your room ? And then we’ve checked the room and everything is ok . That was it . Prior to checking in at the Amari we stayed in a 4 start hotel for 16 nights in Phuket . Checking out there was how checking outs should be . It was like saying good bye to friends who appreciated our custom and was pleased to hear we enjoyed our stay . Amari was nothing like this . My partner is Deaf . We found the buggy drivers drove around the complex pretty fast and at times we had to move out the way sharpish with short notice . The complex does have corners where you couldn’t see the buggy’s coming . So was reliant on hearing them . A number of times we noticed buggy drivers reading or writing texts on their phones whilst driving. The doors to rooms slam loudly . Not ideal when neighbouring guests return or leave whilst you’re sleeping. Lastly, some of the days you couldn’t get a sun-bed on the beach around midday onwards . We estimated around 40 sun beds . But there was enough space on the beach for double that . We also noticed non guests using the hotel facilities as there are no means set up by the Amari to make genuine guests stand out . We did enjoy our stay at the Amari . And maybe if the check out was better we would have given a close 5-5 .

Excellent hotel and perfect for a family of 12 with 5 young children .Great to have three pools with plenty of sunbeds ,pools were spotless. The staff were exceptional particularly Penn in the bar area and Su Airi who looked after us by the pool
