Amari Koh Samui

This is a great hotel with very helpful and friendly staff. A particular highlight is breakfast with a vast selection of western and Asian dishes all beautifully presented. There are 3 large, well maintained, swimming pools to choose from. The beach is beautiful with a large number of loungers. The cocktails are very well made and Happy Hour is long. The rooms are large, well furnished and very clean. I’ll certainly stay here again and highly recommend.

The location and facilities are excellent. The beach is lovely, and with three pools and plenty of sunbeds (complete with comfortable mattresses), you do not have to "fight" for a spot. This is a huge plus on a small paradise island where people primarily come to enjoy the beach and the pool. The rooms are standard—nothing extraordinary, but perfectly functional. While the restaurant staff were wonderful and attentive, the service in other areas was lacking. It feels as though the reception and housekeeping teams are understaffed. I also want to give a big thanks to the security guard at the road. He does a fantastic job stopping traffic and making sure guests cross safely; his effort and friendliness really stand out. Our biggest disappointment was the total lack of ONYX Rewards recognition. Despite being Gold members, we were treated quite poorly at check-in. We arrived at 9:00 AM and were told the room wasn't ready (which is understandable), the staff were very dismissive and told me clearly room check-in is normally not before 15:00. When I returned at 1:30 PM to check again, they repeatedly insisted that check-in is only at 3:00 PM. Even after I pointed out that Gold members should have a 12:00 PM check-in if a room is available, they just kept repeating "15:00" and then started laughing among themselves. When I asked about the Gold room upgrade, they said none were available, but then made sure to tell me that even if they had one, it would only be a family room with extra beds and a worse view than the Deluxe Pool View room we already booked. It felt like they were trying to discourage me from even asking for my benefits. It was incredibly unprofessional and the worst check-in experience I’ve had in Thailand. Based on the facilities alone, I would have given this hotel 4 - 5 stars, but the unprofessional and mocking behavior during check-in makes this a 2-star experience for me. P.S. We have stayed at both neighboring hotels (SALA and La Vida), where we received the best service at check-in and throughout our entire stay. It is sad that Amari Samui doesn’t maintain that same standard.

We had three nights at this lovely resort and for the most part had a good time. I must say, they definitely have excellent management here as everything is running like clockwork work and the staff seem engaged and motivated. Location – very good indeed. We had moved here for its proximity to the airport And it worked a treat. It is about a 10 minute drive if that and you are also just a couple of minutes walk from the madness of beach Road and all of its delights! There is an area of improvement in my opinion here for the hotel as they don't offer hotel transfers. We had a 6:30 am start and we're reliant on either a Grab taxi or there being one on the right which was a bit unnerving at that time of day. Accommodation – this falls into two parts. Firstly, the layout of the resort is on both the beachside and the roadside. Most of the accommodation is in blocks in the garden wing and we found a lack of privacy here. We had a poolside villa which faced inwards along with all the other accommodations and you were reliant on having considerate and decent neighbours. Unfortunately, we didn't so have lots of rude people FaceTimeing and so on at all times of the day which I just find distracting and disturbing. In terms of the rooms themselves they aren't the biggest but are extremely well laid out and use the space cleverly. You have absolutely everything you need in there for a comfortable stay And the bed was so comfortable we slept brilliantly. The air-conditioning was good, you get free water every day along with hot drinks making facilities and it really is a comfortable place to stay. Our little terrace was quite small and unfortunately we got a lot of mosquitoes so maybe some coils could be provided? Wi-Fi – pretty good. It reached all areas of the resort, was it decent speed and generally didn't need to be logged into every time you used it. It even reached down to the beach which was great as well. Food – we were only there for breakfast but that was absolutely superb. A huge range of both local and international dishes both hot and cold and all delicious. They had nice fresh juice, good coffee and the staff was superb. Somehow they kept on top of things Even though it was chaotic at times and always had a smile on their face. I really must mention the guy who looked after the pool here as he was extraordinary. He also helped out at breakfast and was an absolute pleasure to deal with and extremely courteous and professional. He kept the beach beds in top shape which again took some doing. Beach and pool - excellent places to spend some time and you had lots of options here. In the garden wing was a big pool that seemed to be used mainly by families and had lots of comfortable sun loungers around the place. We preferred the beach though and spent most of our time down there which was both beautiful and very comfortable. Again, there were plenty of sun lounges and they didn't seem to be any of this selfish reservation that happens in many places. All in all, this is an extremely well run resort and probably would be very well suited to families. If you want solitude and privacy though it may not be for you.

Penn was very very friendly, the food was delicious and tasty. and she was also very kind. Thank you very muchpenn and thank you wonderful waiters.

The location is excellent — very close to two 7-Elevens, plenty of money exchangers nearby, and only about 1km from Samui Central. It’s also less than 15 minutes to Fisherman’s Village and very close to the airport. The breakfast was truly incredible — barista-style coffee, Thai teas, and unlimited TWG tea with a beach view. Service was great, everything was clean, and the staff were kind and welcoming. I genuinely looked forward to breakfast every morning. The hotel is extremely child-friendly — with multiple pools, clean towels, a well-maintained kids' club, and friendly staff who kept the little ones entertained in a safe environment. Huge thumbs up for that! The overall vibe is relaxed and the grounds are well-kept. The staff were lovely — sweet, helpful, and very accommodating. The front desk was particularly great. That said, I do wish the rooms were slightly bigger and better thought out. Housekeeping could also improve — the cleaning felt rushed and basic. Counters and bathrooms weren’t up to standard and could have been much cleaner. The bathroom also had a slight smell, which I wish housekeeping would address properly. Still, I would definitely stay here again. The overall experience, location, service, and family-friendly environment made it a memorable trip. Bonus points for 24-hour security and properly locking doors. And yes — the TWG tea really is amazing!

The service is shocking, waiting 3 hours at the reception, I have a knee problem, they put me in a room at the other end of the hotel, they just want money, the hotel is terrible.And we are on our honeymoon.

Amari koh samui, fantastic hotel, clean great staff, fab rooms, We had a perfect stay for a week, Kathleen the manageress. Could not be more helpful, she checks all the guests daily for any issues which is classy, super friendly smiling all day, , Amari is very fortunate to have her as front of house, All staff are friendly and helpful, breakfast staff are amazing , Zeed made us feel so welcome every morning,,would recommend this girl for its location too, Will be back due, Martyn.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel was very busy especially near the beach. The beach area was clean and the sea was calm and clear, good for swimming. The breakfast was extensive. Special mention to Chef Jatin who was very accommodating. We are all vegetarian and he made special effort for us. Paneer tikka and Penang curry were delicious. The whole team at the restaurant were attentive and friendly. Special mention to Pen and Honey who arranged a small birthday cake for my husband. He was delighted with the surprise as well as the singing! Also thanks to the beach support staff who were very helpful. Overall a great experience as we would expect from an Amari. Thank you

Nice location . Plenty of shops around the hotel. Hotel staffs are fabulous ! Friendly , kind and knowledgeable. We (from BMW CAR CLUB SINGAPORE) drove up from singapore 🇸🇬 , up NAN, came down from Bangkok to KO samui and stayed there for 3 days 2 nights . Wonderful stay for us to recharged after a 7 days drive. 💪🏼💪🏼 The hotel staffs helped us with logistics, suggested places of interests to explore , and they are kind enough to help us with a beautiful buffet dinner Setting that end our stay there in a high note . 🤗🤗 Thank you Ponk / latte / wonderful chef who shower us with wonderful food and drinks .
