Hotel Villa Diodoro

The seaview room is fantastic. Poolarea nice and a lot of space.

Older hotel, it could use some renovations, but in a great location, away from the noise but close enough for dinner and plays, across the street from a great playhouse, and next to a beautiful park. I would stay there again.

Our room was double booked the first night so we had to stay a night in a cheaper room. We heard they had given the room to wedding guests. We spoke to another family that it had happened to also. They must have known that the rooms were already spoken for!

AMAZING location, view, pool! Furnished traditionally but “refreshed” & kept very clean. If you have the opportunity to upgrade to a terrace with a Mt Etna view - DO IT- money well spent. Walking distance to town - filled with restaurants & lively till after midnight. Walking distance to gardens, ancient amphitheater & historic sites. Hotel shuttle to beach but no reason to leave the AWESOME pool area. Salvatore in the breakfast room provided outstanding service everyday. Overall staff was very good however the crew at the front desk definitely need training in accommodating guest “special” requests & additional computer trading - as in printing boarding passes from email (took 15 minutes, three try’s & coaching from me to print the boarding pass attachment). Bottom line- loved the hotel. Would stay again & would recommend to my friends & family.

We were assigned rooms at the Villa that required 100 stairs to be climbed every time we left the property. We were climbing over 800 stairs a day there just to go eat breakfast or to leave the property to go into town. It was very hard on the knees and difficult with baggage carrying it up 100 steps to reception. The room I was assigned in the Villa has a bulkhead in the bathroom that took up half the shower so I had to lean out sideways in the shower /tub in order to not hit my head. It is unclear why they would assign a room with an unusable shower. The grounds are well maintained and the pool is great. The Villa Garden View room number 11 has no view. There was a giant tree in front of the room therefore there was no view at all.

Brilliant location, amazing views, courteous staff, nothing to grumble about at all.

I love this hotel. Have stayed here on three different occasions now and have always been happy. No better pool with a great view of Etna.

Aging, but still lovely. Staff is incredibly helpful

We spent 5 nights there. We had a very nice stay. The view was fabulous and the room well appointed with electric roller shutters to keep out the morning sun. All is immaculate and there is a plethora of antiques and paintings to view. Breakfast is very good, but the daily changing evening menu is a bit boring as it's aimed at overseas tourists who aren't fond of Italian food. The pool area and grounds are immaculate, plus no charge for onsite parking. The staff are as good as it gets. Nothing's too much trouble. We had an evening drink before wandering the streets to find another restaurant for dinner. This was always a highlight as the bar area is elegant and well appointed.

EXCELLENT LOCATION. OUR ROOM HAD THE MOST WONDERFUL VIEW OF MOUNT ETNA. VERY HELPFUL AND FRIENDLY STAFF. VERY CENTRAL LOCATION IN THE HISTORIC CITY BUT VERY QUIET. REALLY ENJOYED OUR TIME.
