Hotel Villa Diodoro

Really enjoyed our stay here. The location relative to where the tourist area is located is excellent. Within easy walking distance. We were treated very well here, giving us an upgraded room for our stay, which we extended by another two days. Rosario who assisted is at the front desk was extremely helpful as were the others attending. The pool area was clean and well maintained as were the grounds. The interior of the building, while somewhat dated was also very clean, well maintained and have an open, airy feeling in the corridors. The true benefit however is the view of the Taormina lagoon, which at this height which is nothing short of spectacular. Although not limited to this hotel, parking was tight and requires a skilled hand (not unlike other Italian coastal towns) to position the vehicles correctly.

Second time staying at the hotel. This time our experience wasn’t as pleasant. We booked 4 rooms. All The rooms were on the lower level of the hotel. The air conditioning did not work in 3 of the 4 rooms. The hotel did nothing to correct the situation or even acknowledge the problem. Parking this time was a huge problem. They wouldn’t let us leave our car there so we went to a paid lot which was a 10 minute walk from the hotel. However, They were accepting cars from other reservations. I didn’t think you get the same treatment when you book thru hotels.com. Last time I booked through the hotel and had none of these problems. Either way I wouldn’t go back there.

Classic Old world hotel in a fabulous location. Elegance at a fraction of the price of other villas. Went in February and it was the ideal hotel. Worth the price just for the parking! Fantastic views of the Bay and Etna. Minute walk to the Greek Theater and Historic Park.

Staff and room very nice. The dining room was outdated tho, and the food mediocre at best.

The hotel is conveniently located. Very close to the center and all attractions. Not far from “City by see” hop-on hop-off bus route that can take you to all surrounding villages. The view from the terrace is amazing.

The location was great just a few minutes walk from the main town centre and not too many steps to get to. Amazing views from balcony if seaview. Building and rooms a bit tired, could do with a refurb but they were clean and functional and staff helpful. Breakfast was fair but not great. However would go back again for the location - was perfect.
