Hotel Villa Diodoro

Great pool and pool area. Good pool snack & lunch area. However there are approximately 75 steps, perhaps more, down to the pool and, of course, back up to the elevator to the rooms. If you have no joint or mobility problems this won't be a problem. The hotel is also down a steep driveway, or stairway. The walk to town is uphill all the way. Not a problem if you are young, or older and fit. Breakfast could be improved upon. Did not have dinner at the hotel. Lovely bar area with patio and view. Good service. Views are excellent. Rooms need much updating. Apartments are terrible. A few key employees have that silly Italian arrogant attitude, the rest are very friendly and helpful. Taormina is amazing.

Beautiful property and surroundings. Beautiful pool! Property is Across the road from the Theatro. Staff were professional and helpful. The only drawback is if you choose your accommodations in the apartments, they are a long walk down many stone steps. In addition, our apartment smelled moldy and plaster was falling off some of the walls. It needs work.

The hotel was very tired and in need of a facelift. The staff were ok but very few of them. absolutely no good for anyone who is not very fit and able bodied. The hotel entrance is down a very steep slope and the swimming pool is not accessible to anyone who struggles with 50-60 steep steps. Situation of the hotel is wonderful and the island of Scicily is just beautiful.

The views were spectacular. However, this hotel is not for people with disabilities. We stayed in an apartment accommodation one flight down from the pool which involved a strenuous hike up to the main area of the restaurant and reception desk. For those with accommodations in the main area, the pool was a downward hike and strenuous climb back. Our accommodation had a banquet storage area above us which kept us awake most of an evening when the staff was cleaning up after a wedding. Hammering, dragging and scraping noises lasted until 2am and stopped only after we wearily complained. We were offered a complimentary dinner with apologies. The positive attitude of the staff helped make our stay pleasant and worthwhile.

We had to move rooms due to unsatisfactory condition of first room they put us in which was very musty. This was disappointing as the management team didn't ownership or apologise.

This is a very fine hotel in a great Taormina location. Rooms have dramatic views of the coast and Mt. Etna. The pool is large and inviting. The pool area also has a small bar and restaurant. The staff was most helpful especially with getting our rental car into their small parking lot. The main part of town is a short, uphill walk. One of the entrances to to the Greek Theater is just across street. This is a must see. This is a very classy traditional hotel in a beautiful part of Sicily.

Property is in a great location. Awesome view of the sea and 5 minute walk to the center of Taormina.

Avoid at all costs! My boyfriend and I stayed here for four nights, checked into the hotel with a car and within the first five minutes the valet damaged our rental car. They took no responsibility for it either - they wrote a note to the car rental company essentially absolving themselves of any wrongdoing. Good thing I have a photo of the guy who did it, Antonio! In addition to the chaotic check in - they tried to stick us in a room, below the pool next to the trash cans. We immediately complained and were moved to a room in the main building; the room however, had spotty hot water and none of the outlets worked so it was tough to charge laptops and phones.

Amazing amazing amazing. Beautiful people , beautiful hotel. Great service. Would 100% recommend and would definitely go back
