Tru By Hilton Greensboro Lake Oconee

It was a nice hotel, but really overpriced. I had to pay an extra $100 non refundable for my dogs to be there. The parking lot has no shade. Also there were tons of signs that say coffee 24/7 however from the time we got there at 1pm until we checked out by the following day at 2 am there wasn’t coffee not one time.

The showers are super nice!! The breakfast was good. The lady who stocked the breakfast area was nice.

The pool had been closed by the health department. It was a surprise getaway for my husband who loves to swim. I had no clue about the pool until we arrived.

Woken up at 6am to the fire alarm. Took a minute to get my self together as I got in very late and stopped here because I was completely exhausted. Evacuated downstairs to the parking lot. There were maybe 6 people in the parking lot. Nothing was being communicated to guests. I walked in to the lobby to see if there was a fire. The employees were laughing and said the oven was smoking. The entire lobby was smoky but no fire. No fire or police response. They finally turned off the alarm and we went back to rooms. Back in room at 7am and had a hard time falling back asleep. Then woke up at 11:40 ands called to see if they could give me a little bit of a later checkout so I could shower. The answer was no in a manner of complete rudeness like I asked for a million dollars. They said if I wasn’t out by noon, they would charge me extra. I packed up and got out before noon. Completely ridiculous. I have a week in a beach hotel booked for September. It will be canceled. Hilton isn’t getting another dime of my money.

Location

AC didn’t work. Staff was rude. Fire alarm wake-up at 6am. No communication from staff while people were in parking lot. Staff laughing when walked in lobby about smoking oven. Wouldn’t let me check out later.

Front desk was incredibly kind and helpful in getting us checked in quickly and even a little early since we had a wedding to get to.

This was a great property. The people were incredibly friendly, the room was clean, and I had a great time.

And bright it was modern and bright. Comfortable bed, bathroom, large size. Reception staff really lovely.

When we pulled back the sheets, a dirty straw fell from the bedsheets. We notified reception the next day, and we received no feedback from management. Additionally, the blackout blind went closed would not open again for the rest of our stay, the bathroom door was off its hinge and could not be opened or closed. Regarding breakfast bar, most foods were unavailable before the end of breakfast time. coffee was cold. Milks were empty, pancake mixes empty, no bagels, no yoghurt, etc. We paid a premium price for this room and stay, and unhappy with the fact that we received no feedback from management regarding our concerns.
