Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel

The location is great and the history of Asbury Park in the lobby was much appreciated. I love that it is a survivor of the old resort hotel era.

The cafe area was understaffed and didn't have a lot of options for breakfast food. A bigger selection of ready-made grab-and-pay (or self-serve) options would be appreciated. I had to wait at least ten minutes for a simple cup of coffee.

It’s a really good place to spend time when the weather is great, room clean and have a good view.. but… Parking it’s so bad $90 per night and they try to charge you again after check out, (11.00) so don’t be late

Location is great

Hotel exhibits the worst features of "Boutique" hotels. It is a quick redo of an old traditional hotel at very high prices. Room was a premium, ocean front room, no refrigerator, no close ice machine, dark and kind of dingy inside, even though the refresh appears recent. The valet parking is $90 for a night. The room was $600 plus before parking. No coffee all morning, sign up saying they were brewing fresh, which never came. Summarizing, its a pretender, not a good boutique hotel. Add to it high prices and an aura of arrogance from the staff and the operating company, I would avoid.

Property was kept clean. There was no microwave or washer and dryer.
