The Ambleside Inn - The Inn Collection Group

We came here last year, and because we enjoyed it so much we came back. Breakfast is excellent, rooms are extremely clean, location excellent for walks, pub and restaurants.

The staff were the best part. So genuine, friendly, and hard working. Please recognize them!

Rooms weren’t clean. Lots of dust. Pillows had short black hairs and lint. I had to sleep with a towel over the pillows.

Although the outside was being worked and you could see the external building, the inside was neat and tidy , clean and warm .

The water pipe in the room , visable and water sound throughout the night , light sleeper so was a little annoying .

Location and building , food and room

Staff was friendly, warm atmosphere. Great rooms. Great choice for breakfast.

They had ran out of the Sunday roast by 5pm

Booked very short notice 30 mins before arrival, everything clean, decent shower, comfy bed. Tea and coffee in room

The hotel was closed when we arrived at 9.30pm because of a major power outage in Ambleside. We completely accept the closure could not be avoided. However we received no notification just a missed call and no message. There was no one at the hotel. We were abandoned to find other accommodation at 9.40pm. We felt badly let down.

Nothing else to add

Our room was spacious and very comfortable for our stay. The hotel’s location is perfect, right in the heart of Ambleside, so there are many shops, cafés, and restaurants just a few steps away. The breakfast was also very good, with enough variety and delicious options. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and would happily come back again.
