Blackwell Grange Hotel

Pool, gym and spa facilities are amazing! Decor was lovely and the breakfast was delicious. Loved that didn’t have to find coins for locker keys. Gym was clean and tidy and really well equipped. Changing rooms were great!

Some tired areas on top floor. When we arrived the indoor jacuzzi was being emptied and the outdoor one was full so didn’t get much time to bubble and relax. Could do with a spinner in changing rooms for wet swimsuits. Noticed on the way out that some rooms are supplied with biscuits and some aren’t (ours weren’t) and this seemed a bit mean.

Hot tub and pool, breakfast was nice too.

Booked for easter Sunday dinner, starter was soggy and when we advised of why it wasn’t touched no action taken. Roast beef dinner was nice however not as warm as we would have liked, we ate it and it was very noce despite this. Then all staff disappeared for about 25 mins and we had to go searching for them to order coffees and desserts. Noone was in the restaurant clearing tables and serving. All staff we’re having a meal in the other restaurant area. For Easter hols the hotel was very quiet as was the restaurant. Inside hot tub was not operating which was disappointing. Pizzas from the bar menu were disgusting and over priced at £15 each, did not finish these either.

Beautiful hotel, lovely and warm room. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was perfect. Cute rabbits hopping about when we arrived..perfect easter weekend

The location was fabulous 👌 the staff were absolutely wonderful they went about and beyond to make our stay a fantastic experience

While the overall experience was excellent there was a slight feeling of well worn an the paint work of the corridors and the room and the pillows were very flat

Whilst we were asleep someone entered our room (which shouldn’t be possible) and woke us up. We complained to reception the following morning and was assured that the manager would talk to us. That hasn’t happened so I don’t believe they take that complaint seriously. So don’t stay at this hotel!

Booked a spa morning through Groupon which consisted of a buffet breakfast that hotel residents also have, this was quite tasty but not especially warm. We then went through to the spa where the reception area is quite attractive, the lady greeting us was a bit harassed as she was short staffed due to sickness. We were given towels and robes and headed into the changing rooms. The lockers were being upgraded so we were unable to secure our contents safely. We then headed into the pool area and were shocked to find this was all it was, a pool and jacuzzi with 2 garden chairs that had other people's towels slung on them. We went outside to see if there was more going on, a sauna was down a little walkway and there was an outside hot tub full of regulars complaining about the work being done (workers installing outdoor baths and a shed for something else) The only seating was outside which wasn't ideal on a cold March morning (we sat huddle in our robes with towels wrapped around us), at this point I was tempted to sit in the car until our treatment however the lady in reception kindly let us use the relaxation room upstairs. Eventually it was time for our treatment which thankfully was very good and made the morning worthwhile. Unfortunately at this moment it feels like they haven't got the spa experience quite right, there are far nicer spas available in the area.

Bed was really comfortable. Staff on reception were very helpful and lovely. Loved the swimming pool and jacuzzi. Just not the new lockers. Food and entertainment on the night were spot on. Pity about breakfast.

Bar hubby waiting to be served took 10 minutes and wasn’t that busy. He was totally ignored. Lad busy making cups of tea .need someone else doing that and the bar person serving on bar. Carpet in the room which I one of the front of the house rooms stained. And breakfast well cold. Need another toaster cos only one when busy not good. Especially when you had to put toast through twice for it browning. Asked for pouched egg came out straight away but were not hot a bit like all things on breakfast I’m afraid. Also new locker system not good would not lock. And had to put card in my swimsuit not good.
