Mercure Blackburn Dunkenhalgh Hotel & Spa

Lovely hotel with beautiful original features. Bathroom was huge either lovely walk in shower, water was beautiful and warm Food eaten in the bar was really good and reasonably priced

Would have loved bigger bath towels!

Breakfast was really good, excellent staff ,was very helpful. Receptionist staff explained where everything was, very well spoken. Everyone very friendly. Excellent.

The resort is in a large stately home and it was a long walk to our room each time. But room was large and comfortable. The hotel is tired and in need of an update and they appear to be doing that in one block.

The location was good. Big bathroom. Nice outdoor lighting. The room had an iron and ironing board which was handy.

There was no AC/Fan even though there was a heatwave. Not having a fridge in the room also added to this as we couldn't have cold drinks. Towels had marks/stains on them. The room was clean but could have been hoovered better around the edges as there were a lot of bits on the edges. There was constant screaming, banging and crying late at night from one of the rooms near us. This continued into early morning and kept us awake. We did notify reception but it continued for a couple of hours after this too.

Stayed here for my friends hen weekend through Ghostly Getaways, what a perfect setting! Full of history and intrigue - spooky and atmospheric, just what you need to contact the spirits. We were made to feel so welcome by all the lovely, friendly staff. From Carla and Courtney serving our evening meals, to Aziz the breakfast superstar and Cayden on the bar. Rooms were spacious and comfortable, a bit too hot - some Aircon would be a great update. I would definitely stay here again!
