The closest lift was out of order so had to a long walk to the next lift hard with crutches. And no body was in the room totally empty

The location is perfect, situated across the road from the train station. Only a 10 minute walk to the city centre. The staff in the evening were lovely and made you feel welcoming in the hotel bar. The cleanliness of the room was excellent.

Even though the room had character, i felt it was still a little out dated. The parking had to be paid daily by pay and display through an app, and it isn't free to guests staying at the hotel.

Location, location, location. The Queen faces Chester train station and is good value for such a perfect location for a train traveler. As a frequent visitor to Chester, it always looked a bit worn from the outside, but inside it's a vibrant, clean, lovingly cared for vintage hotel.

On this visit I was charmed by everything: I got a last minute deal on a small room in the Kings wing, and the decor was adorable.

I was leaving by train the next day, so the location cannot be improved upon. Staff unfailingly kind and cheerful. lovely interiors, especially the central atrium, decorated for the World Cup. Breakfast is varied and breakfast staff are very active and helpful at all times. I ordered room service and it arrived astonishingly fast, in perfect order. I can't praise the staff at the Queen highly enough.

I paid to upgrade and for a late checkout. Though larger than my room days before, my room on this night was a bit of a disappointment. The sink was slow to drain, and the bathtub plug didn't work at all (I took a shower instead). After struggling to turn on the bedside lamps, I found that the bulbs were loosened, perhaps deliberately so by a prior guest? However the room was very clean, and the A/C was very effective!

Noise, kettle was stuck on and scalding hot to touch when we checked in, bathroom dated, corridors noisy due to loud doors and lift outside door

Great location, great staff and great food.
