Home2 Suites By Hilton Asheville Biltmore Village

The staff when I checked in was super helpful and friendly. They were having computer issues but they found a way to get me into my room quickly and with no issues. Then they provided a recommendation for dinner that was exactly what I was looking for.

I have stayed at this specific property over 8 times in past 12 months. Not sure what is going on with the property BUT this was my worst stay in ANY Hilton property in my almost 20+ years of being a Hilton Honors member. There were several problems: 1) Upon walking into room after checking in Friday afternoon, the room smelled overpoweringly of ‘wet dog’. I notified front desk who changed my room to a better smelling one. 2) Breakfast items & set-up had changed since my previous stay (without ANY notification or explanation. No longer were single cup servings of yogurt (where previously they were regular & healthy lower sugar/fat yogurt cups available). This offering was replaced with a machine dispenser of yogurt sweetened with cane sugar. No bananas or other fresh fruit to top the yogurt (or cereal) unless you wanted a navel orange, dried cranberries or fruit compote for waffles. The cereal dispensers were not labeled as to their content…the cheerio & granola-like cereal looked sugar glazed and who knows what the 3rd cereal option was. The hot items were not labeled either. Hot egg items were tasteless & the sausage looked very unappetizing (pale gray sausage-type patties of indeterminable meat type-as nothing was signed/labeled I was afraid to try it). Gone were the bins with packaged condiments like salt, pepper, hot sauce, mayonnaise; they were replaced by unlabeled squirt bottles (next to the waffle chocolate or caramel topping bottles and whipped cream cans) AND grinder salt & pepper grinders hidden behind the waffle toppings. NOTE: on Saturday morning I was there @ 7:10ish; on Sunday morning I was there about 8:30…and the magnetic labels for hot items were in place …the pale gray sausage was chicken sausage…still looked disgusting! 3) Saturday afternoon I returned from the day’s Asheville activities around 3:30. Upon walking into the room, I was once again assaulted by the overwhelming ‘Wet Dog’ odor. Apparently the way they ‘freshen’ the room to remove horrible pet odors is to spray FeBreeze all over the room. The front desk offered to re-spray the room; instead, I asked for the bottle & did it myself. 4) The final straw that makes me never stay at this Home2 property is the way 2 staff members treated me: breakfast attendant told me if I didn’t like the yogurt option I could go across the street and my own & David the front desk person who refused to give me a receipt for my stay. I AM DONE

Our 3 night stay was very good! Loved the location near the Biltmore and downtown Asheville shopping and restaurants!

Ended up staying 2 nights due to bad weather at our next destination. Desk clerk was very helpful in exrtending our stay and supplying a discount code for Biltmore Estates. Room and beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was amazing; homemade buttermilk biscuits were the best I’ve tasted in years! Full kitchen wasn’t necessary but real plates and silverware to eat our take out was nice. Japanese restaurant just across the parking lot is also excellent. I would definitely stay here again and will look for other Home2 Suites by Hilton in other cities.
