Bay Towers

Wow, where do we start?! This hotel was amazing; there was some building work happening whilst we were there and due to this, we was upgraded straightaway. We were the only guests and nothing was too much trouble. They provided a huge gallon of water and it was constantly refreshed throughout the stay for fresh water. I had left a bag of shopping accidentally on the south side and the split ferry service and hotel staff coordinated to bring it back to me. 🏝️ Location & Vibe The Best of Both Worlds: It offers a quiet, peaceful, and secluded atmosphere away from the crowds and "party people," yet it isn't isolated. Convenience: It's within easy walking distance or a short bike ride to local restaurants, a convenience store, and the Split. 🚲 Amenities & Perks Free Bicycles: A major highlight for exploring the island, riding to the ferry, or spending the day at Bliss Beach. Although we didn't take them out we could have taken kayaks out. Onsite Comforts: Features a small beach perfect for swimming, a refreshing pool, a relaxing dock for sunset watching, swinging beds, and an onsite bar. Thoughtful Extras: Complimentary coffee and water were provided in the rooms. 🤝 Exceptional Service Arielle: Handled check-in promptly and was waiting for them upon arrival. Maria (Housekeeper): Kept everything spotless, was incredibly friendly, and went above and beyond. Transport: The North Side Ferry will pick guests up right at the Bay Towers dock for easy transit to the south end for tours.

The location on the north side is perfect. It’s a 5 minute ferry ride across the split. We loved how peaceful and relaxing it was there! It’s very clean, has a nice pool and a small private beach with a dock. We really enjoyed riding the free bikes around both ends of the island and drinking coffee from our balcony. So thankful that they provided water!!

Everything was fantastic!

Bay Towers was great place to stay on our first visit to Caye Caulker. Arielle was there onsite waiting for our arrival and to get us checked in promptly. We loved the quiet and peaceful vibe of this location with its small beach, which was excellent for a swim. Bay Towers came recommended from a coworker and she was 💯 on point! The location is perfect. Secluded enough to feel private, but not remote or far away from a convenient store and several local restaurants. It’s also close enough to the split to walk to the water taxi or ride your bike to the ferry to take over to the south end for tours. If you call the North Side Ferry, they will pick you up right at the dock. The free bikes were a definite plus for us. We really enjoyed riding them around the island to try different restaurants and up to Bliss Beach for the day. The pool was a nice place to cool off after coming home from bike riding. We also loved sitting on the dock and watching the sunset. The swinging beds and bar onsite were great too. The coffee and water that were provided were an additional and unexpected plus!!! Maria, the housekeeper, was super friendly and ensured everything was spotless. She was so kind to even mail my postcards for me! Highly recommend if you are looking for some R&R away from the noise, crowds, and party people.

Don’t stay here!! The photos hide the fact that the place is under construction. The staff is rude. They only cleaned the room once out of our 5 night stay. They are in the middle of a construction project, piles of gravel and cinders blocks in the entrance. We were forced to stay in a half constructed building. The bathroom door would not close properly without trapping you inside. The door fell off the wall 3 times. The staff was very aggressive and dismissive of the about the problems. They consistently lied to us! The communication was rude and aggressive when we expressed any concerns about the state of the property. The shower water smelled like sewerage and was cold! The toilet clogged and they couldn’t fix it. The tvs didnt work. The pans provided for cooking were rusting. The magic carpet off the pier was moldy and another hotel guest decided to remove it so the kids could swim off the pier. All the bikes and kayaks were old and falling apart. Everything was dirty, old and falling apart. You have many choices in Caye Caulker--it’s a fun island and everyone else we met was delightful. However staying at this property makes me never want to return.

1st, the room we stayed was in the building behind the pool. It is not shown in any of the pictures for a reason. Cleanliness- Absolutely gross suite. The toilet had feces spattered all inside the toilet bowl, with hair and urine on the rim. There were cobwebs hanging from the ceiling and fan and windows had not been cleaned in quite a while. When asked to clean the room, it took 2 days and the spattered feces remained. Bedroom- I hope you don't plan on staying long because there is no closet. There is a tiny 24" shelf in the room with a bar to hang stuff, but you better bring your own hangers because there aren't any supplied. There is also no dresser to store clothing. Bar- Wasn't open the entire stay of 3 days Restaurant- There isn't one, but there is a nice hotel across the street with bar and restaurant. You might consider staying there. It seems like a nice place. Non-motorized sports- The only thing available were kayaks that did not have the backs on them for sitting comfortably. There were no snorkeling masks or fins. The office was closed to ask for assistance. Location- It was quiet because it's located on the other side of the Split and close walk to the ferry. Sand Fleas- There are lots of them. I got so many bits it looked like I had the measles. Definitely wear bug spray if you plan on sitting on the beach.

The location on the leeward side of the north island is ideal-the beaches are much cleaner, it’s less windy, and less crowded, but it’s only a 10 minute walk and then a 2 minute ferry ride to the South Island where most of the restaurants, tour operators and grocery stores are. The beach at Bay Towers is a beautiful sandy white, raked daily, with lots of options for relaxing, and there is also a small, clean, and refreshing swimming pool. Kayaks and bicycles are available to guests for free.

The property is under construction and while there was not active work going on while we were there there are construction materials and equipment at the back and sides of the property. The bicycles were in need or repair, only the 3 of the 6 were rideable.
