"Beautiful, quiet and relaxing."

8.0

Property is beautiful and relaxing. 2nd time there. Not the customer service as before. Did not have housekeeping for 3 out of 4 nights. Dog likes shoes so don't leave out or they will be ruined like ours was. If you need things close by stay on The south island. But this place is beautiful, quiet for now and relaxing. Very good AC in the 2 bedroom we had.

"Amazing stay in Caye Caulker"

10.0

We stayed 10 days at the Bay Towers and had a great time. Our daughter played with the on-site puppy, Wonder, non stop and took him kayaking off the dock. We enjoyed the quiet of staying on the North side and had no issues getting back/forth on the Split to split. Get a punch card - we used exactly 30 trips over the time we were there. Everyone was helpful with recommendations for places to eat or shop for groceries or things to see and do. Having the full kitchen was great and the property was immaculate. Gregg was kind enough to give us a North island golf cart tour and we checked out Bliss beach. We are looking forward to the expansion they are planning and the new amazing pool. We will be back!

We stayed at the Bay Towers for 10 days as a family and loved it. We had not pre-arranged any ground transportation from Belize City to Caye Caulker but it all went very smoothly- we got a taxi right outside the airport to the water taxi. Made it in the nick of time for the 12pm water taxi, to Caye Caulker then got a quick 5 min golf cart taxi to the split, and the Split to split ferry sold us a punch card (30 crossings) which was perfect for 10 days and they dropped us right at the Bay Towers dock for $5 pp. The room was well appointed and very clean. There is a new grocery store on the North side of the split and we bought staples there quite often. We made use of the kitchen quite a bit for breakfast and lunches and typically only went out to a restaurant at dinner time. We enjoyed El Ben’s and Happy Lobster on the North side (they will pick you up or deliver if you want). And Rainbow and Swings bar on the south side. We swam quite a bit in the ocean right off the dock and saw quite a lot of colourful fish, lobster, some spotted raya and even a moray eel. We also used the pool a lot. Gregg was very nice and took us for a North island tour on his golf cart which was great. We also did a full day Snorkel tour with Caveman and that was a hit too. My daughter played non stop with Wonder the resident puppy and won’t stop talking about him. They are planning to expand and add a large pool and restaurant/bar. We are looking forward to this next trip!

"If you’re staying in Caye Caulker stay here ."

10.0

We stayed in the rear “Garden view” appartment. Whilst initially we were abit underwhelmed by the fact there was no garden there was a view to the sea on the other side of the garden and we actually grew to like the privacy this unit gave us . The room itself was very nice ,very spacious and fully equipped . Having been all around the island we agree this is certainly the best location to stay . The beach was amazing and always quiet , the water crystal clear and the pool was really nice to cool down in . Complimentary Kayaks were good to have. Generally The beaches on the South Island were small , lots of seaweed and lots of walking people going past you the whole time. The location on the north island we found great . A way 5 minute walk to the split and never more than a 2/3 minute wait for the ferry . The clip card you can buy made it about $1.50 a crossing . So you benefited from being quiet at night whilst being a closer distance to the south hub than many hotels on the south side itself. Complimentary bicycles if required .

"Dock side pickup"

10.0

Wonderful place. Nice swimming pool which we didn’t use because we were on the reef both days. Plenty of fish to see just under the dock at Bay Towers. Spectacular view of the bay from the 3rd floor. You can actually see the ocean (and sunrise) from the front side of the unit but in the distance with some non-photogenic stuff in the foreground. Two beautiful bedrooms. Lovely protected terrace facing the bay. Immaculate brand new condition. TV is on a funk pedestal that lets you watch in the living room or swing it around to watch from the bedroom. Although we initially thought being on the North Caye would be a hassle it turned out to be just fine. Nice getting away from the “hectic’ South Caye. Our snorkel tour even picked us up “curbside” at the dock. Big thumbs up to stay at Bay Towers. Dock side

"Comfortable & scenic spot striking a balance between quiet and convenience."

8.0

Generally, the location and room were excellent. We stayed in the Crab Pad overlooking the pool, which was a peaceful and scenic location throughout our stay. Pool was little used, which was surprising given how nice it is. You could see the ocean from the room, and although we weren't lucky enough to see any amazing sunsets the potential is certainly there. The room itself was by far the nicest we had in Belize. It's essentially a fully-furnished apartment, which we felt was great value for money at the price point. Bed was extremely comfortable for someone that has back issues and prefers firmness. We also made use of the bikes to explore the north side of Caye Caulker. The dock and sea were great for swimming and relaxing. The hotel is not full-service, but you are very close to El Ben's restaurant (lovely ambiance and good breakfasts) and the Split. Get a "frequent flyer" punchcard from the Split Ferry if you want to travel back and forth from the main areas of Caye Caulker. Other reviews will have pointed it out, but the legendary Rene is no longer running this hotel. The new ownership seems fine enough, but tend to be brusque and focused on new construction projects happening on-site. As an example, their website had advertised having cable TV. Not only was there not cable TV, but the TV was unable to connect to the internet while we were then. We asked for assistance a couple of times to shrugs from the owner and staff. Not a huge issue, but hopefully they will settle a bit more into their role as proprietors. On the whole, though, a very comfortable and scenic locale that strikes a good balance between quiet and convenience.
