Curacao Avila Beach Hotel

Relaxing stay, very quiet and not a party vibe which is what we wanted. Overall older crowdqt a small resort. Liked that it wasn't an all inclusive so we had flexibility to eat at various restaurants at the resort and around the area. Could walk to downtown (20 min) but would be a very hot walk, so we didn't do that. Taxi service was about $5/pp. Smaller man made beach with a lagoon made for easy snorkeling. Appreciated that we did not have to fight for beach chairs in the shade - there were plenty - even though the resort offers day passes to non-hotel visitors (they limit those). Renovated room in Blues wing was awesome (balcony too hot to sit outside in the evening but was nice after the sun went down). Beds and pillows were the best we've experienced anywhere which is what makes or breaks a stay for me. Staff was overall very friendly and accommodating.

Rooms are great and modern. The views and ocean beach are extraordinary. The bars and food were ok, but everything else we enjoyed. Make sure you explor the area. There are great little places between the hotel and downtown.

Laid back. Clean room. Great views. Breezy deck. Great breakfast. Enjoyed snorkeling right off beach. Fun to watch the resident pelicans fishing every morning

They could use more massage therapists to accommodate guests during busy season

The rooms are very worn out. The towels, and bed sheets are either worn out, stained or damaged. No robes or slippers are provided. Ritual Soap in the rooms is diluted down. The beach is four star the rest is 1 star given what they charge guests!

What a beautiful hotel! The beaches are so nice with plenty of shaded areas. Our room in the Octagon building was comfortable and great ocean views! Loved having my coffee on the balcony every morning! Avila Beach Hotel was the perfect location for traveling around the island and exploring all the beaches! Plus the restaurants and town all within walking distance!

We were loyal clients for 2 years, but now this 5 star accomodation no longer has the wheel chair to get in the sea … it seems to have vanished and is not coming back, according to the manager. Obviously, we will not go for holidays there anymore.We regret to say the service is not 5stars anymore and the publicity of the web about accesibility is not for sea lovers.

Avila is truly a special place. A special shout out to Julian who works at The Pen restaurant in Avila Beach Hotel. She was so friendly, upbeat, and kind. Another shout out to Itelga in housekeeping. She took pride in her job, and always made sure we had everything we needed. This place is beautiful and we will return if we come back to Curaçao. Thank you for a wonderful vacation, Avila!

Being a picky tourist I can't find a one single thing to complain about in this hotel. Great beach, newer stylish beach beds, big room, absolutely amazing coffee, SPF cream and mosquito spray in the room, comfortable bathroom, unbeatable location within 1-10 minutes walk from the best restaurants.
