Staff in the hotel were excellent. Extremely helpful, very polite. Fabulous decor/restaurants. Great food. Will definitely go back to the hotel. However… A little disappointed with the spa. Unisex Changing area very narrow. Had to leave the shower and walk across the narrow corridor into the changing room. I felt uncomfortable with this! Also had to carry clothes through the reception area to get to treatment rooms…. It just doesn’t work! However, excellent back massage.

We have just got back from an amazing afternoon tea celebrating Mother’s Day. The food was delicious 🤤 the service impeccable and all staff were very polite and professional 🙏. Highly recommended this hotel 🙌

A fabulous hotel, decorated beautifully. Love the ambiance in the bar area, had a few bar snacks, great view of the garden. Dinner also very good

Olivia really made sure our afternoon tea was perfect, she made sure that our daughter’s dietary requirements were met and had loads of alternatives for her to make sure she had the best experience too! Thank you Olivia we will be coming back!

Booked an overnight spa break for myself and my wife through spaseekers.com costing approx £600. Started badly as the booking team at the hotel took 4 attempts to send me a confirmation email, little did I know what was to come! Morning of arrival called me to say we should be there for our treatment but they had accidentally booked wrong day! On arrival they confirmed all had been paid through spaseekers but would we like to put a card deposit on account for any room service or extras which we did (big mistake!!). Hotel room and facilities were fine but the major issue happened after checkout. When I got home I noticed Down Hall had taken £1200 from my card on account and attempted to take another £350 which was rejected. When I called them the receptionist said they had made a mistake with the billing and only meant to take the fees for the extras approx £170, I was promised the refund had been issued but would need to wait up to 5 working days for my money back!!! I accepted that mistakes happen and said it is a nuisance that my money has been taken and I need to wait 5 days but ok. What if I had needed to use these funds elsewhere? It turned out the refund they sent was also the wrong amount and I am still owed over £540 and waiting for the bank to intervene or someone at the hotel get their act together. A service that should have cost £600 with spaseekers ended up with me nearly £2000 out of pocket. Oh they did offer me a free bottle of house wine if I ever stay again as a gesture of goodwill 🤦‍♂️ AVOID!

Had an amazing time at Down Hall Hotel & Spa. Me and my partner stayed at Down Hall for one night for our Anniversary. Check in went very smooth, the lady was very helpful and informative. The Estate Patio room as you can see from the pictures, was lovely and clean, with thoughtful little welcome messages and gifts! Very cute! The bed was very comfortable and great amenities. We were due to stay for the night but ended up checking out early, due to no fault of the hotel, just our dog would not settle. We ordered room service for dinner and drinks from the Fox Bar, the menu in the room differed a little to the one online, however when I called room service, they were happy to accommodate our request for some of the 'small plates' which were not mentioned on the room menu. The food was delicious, and the young gentlemen (can't remember his name sorry, maybe Jamie?) was very friendly and helpful! They do add a little 'tray charge' to the bill each time for room service, but I think it was only £5 or something. We also both enjoyed a massage at the spa and I also visited the wet spa. The staff in the spa are amazing and so very helpful and attentive. The sauna was closed for repairs at the time I was there however the jacuzzi and steam room were lovely, did not try out the relaxation room so can't comment on that. The massages were great, I got the relaxation and my partner got the deep tissue, the massage therapist was very good and sure to check pressure levels throughout. All in all this one night stay (almost one night) was amazing and the experience was fantastic! Would definitely recommend! One thing I will say, I have put this at the end as it is obviously not expected, however little additional feedback. During check in, the lady asked me the reason for the stay and I mentioned it was our anniversary, again no expectation whatsoever, but I feel like that could have been a moment to step up the level of customer service and go above and beyond. 5* nevertheless!

This is a superb spa hotel. The facilities, staff and food are excellent.
