We had a wonderful couple of days away celebrating my daughter’s birthday. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Mel at reception and her team, who greeted us with a smile and made us feel at ease straight away. We were upgraded to a lovely room with beautiful views of the garden and fountain. Shortly after setting in, we received a call from reception to check everything was to our satisfaction, which was a thoughtful touch. Dinner was included in our package, and we thoroughly enjoyed a delicious three course meal. The restaurant manager was especially friendly and welcoming, which really enhanced our experience. The grounds are beautifully maintained, with plenty of scenic walks to enjoy. Breakfast was buffet style with a great selection, and the staff were attentive, polite, and always on hand to help. We also enjoyed a Pimm's on the terrace, once again served by friendly and professional staff. I took the time to speak to the manager to compliment the team, as their friendliness truly stood out. It was noticeable how much staff training has improved since our last visit, making this stay even more enjoyable. We also used the wet spa and we both enjoyed a spa treatment which was one of the best I’ve ever had, very relaxing and a lovely experience. Overall this was a fantastic stay in a beautiful hotel with exceptional staff. I would highly recommend it for a weekend getaway and will definitely be returning.

I booked Down Hall for a special birthday party with 102 guests. The experience was perfect throughout. The staff are extremely well organised, friendly, efficient and have a knack of anticipating your every need. We had a really wonderful party thanks to Down Hall and I am extremely grateful. Down Hall is not inexpensive by any measure, but it is worth every penny. I will use them again and thoroughly recommend the venue.

We got married in March and honestly, from start to finish, everything was incredible. From the initial booking process and meetings, right through to breakfast and check-out the following morning, the experience was seamless and so well organised. Nothing ever seemed too much trouble for the team. We were given helpful advice throughout, along with thoughtful monthly emails full of tips, which really helped us along the way. Tracy was absolutely excellent & she kept everything calm, relaxed, and completely under control, which made such a difference. We were lucky enough to have beautiful weather, and the outdoor area made the perfect setting for our day, even though it’s not fully complete yet, it was still stunning. The whole day was everything we could have ever dreamed of and more. A huge thank you to Linden, Tracy, and all the staff who were there on the day - they couldn’t do enough for us, without us even needing to ask. The food was amazing, and people are still talking about the lamb shanks over two weeks later! Thank you doesn’t feel like enough to express how grateful we are. We absolutely loved our stay here and honestly wished we had booked for longer. From the minute we arrived, we felt so well taken care of. Mel was fantastic and made such a strong impression with how warm, helpful, and attentive she was. We were travelling with our dog, and this place really goes above and beyond. The grounds were beautiful and perfect to enjoy with a pooch, and we were so impressed by the thoughtful touches like the dog menu, the welcome package for our dog, and a lovely treat waiting for us as well. We had accidentally booked a room that was not dog friendly, but the staff handled it so quickly and smoothly and made sure we were looked after. Nothing felt like too much trouble. Everything about the stay was fantastic. The room was stunning, the food and drinks were excellent, and the staff were exceptional across the board. It is one of those places that makes you want to come back before you have even left. Highly, highly recommend.

Beautiful hotel, lovely decor, spacious, clean with great facilities and amazing food. Wet spa was only allowed limited numbers which made the experience really nice. Food at the hotel was some of the best we had. Room was luxurious- beds super comfy.
