Please note that taxi fares to and from Stansted Airport are GBP 25 for 1 way and GBP 50 for a return journey. The hotel recommends that dinner reservations are made before arrival. A limited service operates over Christmas and New Year. The additional cost for children up to 12 years old includes breakfast when sharing a room with their parents. Breakfast is GBP 10 per person if you order it the night before. Breakfast is GBP 19.50 per person when you order it on the same morning. Beautiful hotel, really dog friendly, food was great, room and grounds perfect. Lovely cocktails on the terrace in the sun. All the staff so friendly and welcoming, the spa and treatments were wonderful

"A wonderful celebration"

We held a triple birthday celebration and I am happy to say that it was a huge success, thanks to the team at Down Hall. Rose, Elsa and Erin, who ran our event, were outstanding, from their warm welcome and attention to detail, to their organisational skills and wonderful service. I really cannot praise them highly enough. All of our guests commented on the delicious food, gorgeous function room, outdoor surroundings and the energy of the staff, it was a truly wonderful evening. I have been back since for lunch on the terrace too and will be a regular visitor in the future. Thank you so much to all involved, you made it so memorable.

We hired a private room for 12 people on a Saturday for my wife’s birthday party. It’s a great venue, having an outdoor play area for bored kids, and the food and personal service were outstanding especially from Luke B. Thanks very much again Luke.

Had a lovely afternoon tea. Jane was our server, and nothing was too much trouble for her, she was wonderful. The food was delicious and warm scones to die for.
