Kimpton Hotel Enso by IHG

Very little to be honest - struggling to think of any redeeming features. Location is solid, that’s about it! Bathroom and walk in shower were quite nice, but finishing wasn’t the best.

More of a Motel than a Hotel, and I knew immediately on check in that I was going to be disappointed. Prices were very high, and that didn’t even get you a bottle of complimentary water in the room - the last thing I wanted to do after travelling for 16 hours + was to go hunting for water! Room was very average relative to the cost, and the sound insulation was so poor, that I could more or hear the phone conversation of another guest in the adjacent room! Breakfast of eggs and avocado featured one hot egg and one lukewarm egg - how is this possible! - and the chef appeared to also be the server, which just gave the impression the property was not appropriately staffed. Due to stay 4 nights and checked out after on,y one night - even that was painful, with front desk being unable to resolve this basic ask and they had to get the manager involved. Cancellation of additional nights was eventually resolved satisfactorily, but it was not straightforward. A property to avoid..

OMG… seriously worst Kimpton I’ve ever stayed in. There is no service at the restaurant… like waiting 20 minutes for a cup of coffee. It’s actually shocking to me that they just don’t just close it. This place is an absolute joke. I mean I used to love Kimpton’s but I will never return to this place. Never. And if you want a hotel with restaurant DO NOT STAY HERE.

Great location and room, older building meant you could hear and feel doors slamming shut.

As I was traveling from oversees, I was unfamiliar with the “extra” fees for processing the room booking. The price received via booking.com vs the price I paid ended up being an extra $400, and I didn’t order anything or charge anything else to the room.

Very comfortable rooms with nice balconys. Enjoyed Japantown and very central in area. Showers and facilities were great. Very nice decor. Coffee and drinks downstairs is handy and nice touch. Staff very pleasant.

Friendly and nice staff, convenient restaurant on site, great location for Fillmore and Japantown. Room was a little noisy from housekeeping staff.
