Hilton Garden Inn Pittsburgh University Place

DO NOT RECOMMEND. The hotel does NOT have free on-site parking, you will be forced to pay $35 for valet parking if you want to park there, and the hotel website does NOT clearly display that there is ONLY valet parking. Additionally, you are afforded NO opportunity to cancel or even modify your booking if the stay is within 21 days (3 weeks!!) regardless of when you booked (even 1 minute after booking and it cannot be changed). Shady practices for a shady company. They pinch every conceivable penny and it shows in the quality. Will not be staying here again. For the same price with valet you could stay at The Mansions on the better side of campus.

Very close to Pitt university

front desk was excellent. Room was comfortable and what we needed. Valet, very accommodating, and had an issue with my fob, and came and found me to ask how it shut off the vehicle.

Bar and grille. Lights were on, but only service set up was to go to the front desk for a menu. and the smell of burnt grille smoked through the room was an allergy trigger, and got our meals later than we'd hoped.

The breakfast was very good and the room was pretty clean. The staff was pleasant

The location was hard to get into, the parking was an extra 35$, and it was full so then we got charged 35$ still to park in a parking lot a block behind the hotel. The hotel was very loud and we were kept up after comming down in a life flight with my child that morning.

It’s near Smashed Waffles The room was nice

My key never worked on my door and no one ever gave me another one. The valet was full and the person was rude about it. They didn’t do a discount that is on their website and had no explanation to why.

Beds were comfortable

Staff and service were substandard. Not what I expected from Hilton.
