Botanical Motel

This property is quite dilapidated. The wifi is non-existant, despite it being offered. To see people sitting outside their rooms to use their mobile devices - what's the point. I didn't stay, as work needed reports which I couldn't complete. Drove an hour to Portland and had a great wifi reception there. Hamilton obviously doesn't. Though the staff tried to help, it didn't matter where I went. Lesson learned. I did the check out the room which was airy and clean with an average-sized bathroom. Pity would have liked to stay otherwise.

Amenities were very small with open shower which left water surrounding. Bed was aged with slump in the middle, good for the young but difficult for the elderly to ride the high. Clean and quite accommodation.

Well situated one block from main street and great park across the road. Room had everything we needed.

Best place to stay in town. The restaurant is out of this world and books up fast so don’t expect a walk in. You can however sit at the bar and eat the same menu. There are around 4-5 tables. Impeccable service and food and the rooms are great. Excellent value!!!

The rooms are quite basic, but provided everything we needed for an overnight stay. Provisions were provided in generous proportions, but would have been great to have fresh milk. The fridge in one of the rooms didn't work as well as the other, and the batteries in our AC remote seemingly died (lucky we had another to get us through) - I am sure that both of these issues would quickly have been rectified if we'd notified reception. The location is AMAZING - directly opposite the Botanical Gardens with a great playground and many picnic spots, and walking distance to the Main Street, and supermarkets so was easy to organise meals etc.

Refurbished rooms, cleanliness, excellent restaurant quality, helpful staff.

Had everything that we required. Noisy neighbours made it difficult to get a good nights sleep as they were gathering outside until late into the evening.
