Sonesta Simply Suites Des Moines

Staff was great. Good location. Room was nicely equipped. Quiet.

Lost the gym and laundry room for a few days due to a burst pipe. No compensation was offered by the management.

I had the worst experience with Sonesta Simply Suites they canceled my reservation right before my check-in so I got to Des Moines and had to find another hotel to stay at the staff called me and stated that they were doing renovations but yet and still they had bookings available still on Booking.com. my check-in time was between four and five. They called me roughly around 4:30 to tell me that they had to cancel my reservation. This is very unprofessional for a business. If you’re doing renovations, then you need to post it on whatever site that you’re allowing people to look at.

Room shown signs of wear…stains on lamp shades and very worn chair. Also had a live wasp in the room. They apparently we’re having problems with their computer reservation system and initially showed that they were not going to be able to accommodate us for the one night. After further checking the desk clerk said oh you’re in luck we can accommodate you. IDs were required for all guests in room and only after talking to manager, did she agree to shred them when we checked out. Otherwise it’s their policy to keep them on file for 2 years.

Cops every night. I stayed for three weeks and paid great price. But since I paid a lower price they were trying to charge more saying I owed money. Even though I was booked thru Booking. They were mad because how much money I had saved. I left on March 9, Now it’s end of April and I was just charged another 56.00 for what???? They’re scamming customers.
