MainStay Suites Columbus North - Worthington

Property appeared recently remodeled, but done kind of half hearted. Everything felt kind of vaguely dirty. Surrounding hotels hosted some unsavory long term guests, lots of screaming and fighting next door.

The hotel uses tons of air fresheners to cover up the fact that the place is not very clean. Go into the stair well and you can see how poorly the property is maintained. The area around the hotel is very sketchy at best. Had I seen the area overall with many closed up hotels I would have never stayed there. Lots of closed up properties. My 1st room the door did not lock. I had to go back and get another room. Then they tried to charge me an extra 75.00. I had to go to my CC company to dispute the charge. Save your time, spend a little more at a better hotel in a better area.

I would not stay again

So we get there and are surprised by the cleaning fee deposit. The guy checking us in didn’t hand me my ID back, just threw it on the counter at me. There is plastic wrapped all around the smoke detector when we get there and the fridge wasn’t working so they had to come in and figure that out. There was dirt on the floors, dark hair on the bed (we’re blonds) and hair in the toilet. We had stayed here before the remodel and the staff were friendlier and it was no hassle. This time? We will never book this hotel again. Only chose it because it was close to a concert venue we go to. Very disappointed. Walls are paper thin, heard children screaming all morning.

I didn’t like the fact that they clean once a week

Was terrible!!!! Would not recommend for anybody, the outlets did not work tv also didn’t work. Had to repeatedly ask for towels and also they ran out of towels for a whole day, no washcloths, or shampoo and conditioner. No ice machine and no housekeeping service at all. Totally ruined my vacation!!! There was a lot of loitering outside felt unsafe. No parking at all unless you want to park in a dark area beside the dumpster. Front desk attendants were very rude and not accommodating. Room stunk like ammonia made me sick and no additional toilet paper or paper towels. There was a very annoying and loud dog barking kept me and my children up til 3 am while a party was going on outside. Barely any hot water and the water pressure was terrible. Please do not stay if you value your safety and health.
