"Didn’t get what I reserved"

I specifically picked the Town Suites by Marriott because they had a two bedroom suite for the three of us traveling. When we arrived to check in, the clerk was very pleasant and when he pulled up my reservation said he apologized but they had to change it. We were sent over to the facility across the parking lot, also Marriott. We went to check in there and the clerk was also very pleasant. When we got to our room, instead of a two bedroom suite as we requested, we were given two queen beds next to each other with a couch on the other side of a half wall. This was not what we had asked for. We awkwardly made it work (we had an elderly lady with us who also made the best of it) but I was never informed about the change until arrival, which would have been appreciated.

"Nice staff "

The lady in the breakfast room was amazing on Friday morning when we stayed. She talked to me and was very helpful.. the one on Saturday did not interact with anyone..

"Usually nice stay"

We have always been so pleased in the past at this place. This time felt like we were in a room that was out of order for maintenance. The front door was sticky and hard to open. The door handle inside the bedroom fell off in our hand. The paint on the bathroom ceiling was peeling and mildewed. The televisions didn't work, the phone didn't work. The kitchen light was iffy. The room wasn't stocked with enough towels for the 4 registered guests. Maintenance came and helped and gave us points in Marriott Bonvoy and a courtesy adjustment on our account. The breakfast attendant was lovely and very cordial- the food tasty, but the eggs and oatmeal so cold they couldn't really be eaten. We are sure that the next time we stay there the room will be refurbished up to the usual standards.
