Signia by Hilton La Cantera Resort & Spa

I wanted to do a 2 night staycation to check out the hotel for visiting friends/family I have coming into town in a few months. I would say overall the stay was OK but I felt like the hotel in general could have been better cared for. My room was fine (nothing special - not particularly clean or fresh and the furniture looked at bit rundown). There was a hole in the duvet, the red chair in the room was worn to the point of the cushions being flat and uncomfortable, etc. It just looked tired. What was more disappointing was that were was gum or something in the carpet near the foot of the bed (stepped on the barefooted - yuck) and the shower was disgusting (looked like there was sand or mud still left in the shower with hair in it - so gross...I even showered with my flip-flops on and put a hand towel on the floor of the shower each time I showered). See pics. Lastly, while the pool area was nice, it was not properly cleaned. Both Saturday and Sunday morning when I went out to the pool, there was a ridiculous amount of trash around the pool (half drank drinks, napkins, other people's belongings that were left behind, etc.). The pool area should have been cleaned the night before so the guests don't have to see all the garbage in the morning. Overall, the property, of course, is beautiful with the pools and the view, etc but the staff truly needs a lesson on what "clean" means for a high end property. I dropped over $1,000 for a 2 night stay on a hotel room that was something like a 3-4 Star Marriott that I would pay between $200-250/at. The property has so much potential but the staff needs to be retrained on cleaning procedures in the rooms & around the property in general and when to replace items in rooms like the torn duvet or worn out chair. The overall experience was just average and "meh"...staff was not particularly friendly but not rude either, hotel rooms were "ok" but dirty, etc. The saving grace is the location and property itself because it is very beautiful.

There was really nothing that stood out to me. It was a nice hotel, but expected more from our room. Room service was nice, and a decent menu. It could have had a few more things on the menu though. You should be able to order from any of the restaurants and bars and have them delivered to your room. The Spa was disappointing. My wife and I went for our 24 year anniversary. Being retired military, that is amazing. The Grotto was so cold it was not enjoyable. However, the cold plunge did help my body. We had a reservation for Playtime for 2. Come with the Grotto again and two 60 minutes massage. The guy accidentally cancelled one of the massages and when my wife and I came for our appointment. We just got an, I am so Sorry!!! We are seeing what we can do? They kept trying to give us two massages at different times. It was couples massage. Their fix was crap. I would strongly think about their Spa. I am sure others have had a great time. I didn't as they ruined a treatment for our Anniversary. They are on the high price side.

Pool bartenders weren’t the best. Towels were constantly out. We had to keep checking several times before we got any. Pools were nice. Not too crowded. Rooms were full of gnats (in all 4 of the rooms in our party). Upon checkout my car was full of 1000’s of bugs/ants.

Great time

This was by far the best resort that I’ve visited. The accommodations were beyond what I could ever imagine. I felt very welcomed and the service was phenomenal. This was the best birthday gift from The food to the drinks to the beautiful views of the property which was breath taking. I will most definitely be back. A huge Shout out to the Manager Dillon and his staff Matthew, Trinity and Robert such a pleasure I appreciated the wonderful hospitality. Thank you for making my birthday special.❤️❤️❤️

It was beautiful! The grounds were well kept, and the staff was amazing and friendly. It wasn't overly crowded, and the food and drinks by the pools were great. We loved being able to order room service. Things are are a little pricey, but you don't have to eat on the property. The only thing I wished is that the rooms had microwaves as well. It would have been nice to warm up leftovers and not let them go to waste, since the food was a little pricey. We will definitely return!
