Extended Stay America Suites - Pleasanton - Chabot Dr

BE AWARE! upon checking in they stated that there is a new policy that third party travel booking sites are not award of - Every person in your party will be required to show a physical ID due to high crime rate in the area - this is Pleasanton, I know there is crime everywhere, but I never heard of such a policy and this policy is not stated on the website. They wanted all of us to leave our ID's at the front desk overnight or we would not be able to check in. Only my husband had his ID with him - Myself and my kids did not, we were told only my husband could stay and we could not. They would not refund the room. I wonder how many people per day they do this to and profit off of it. The clerk at the front desk suggested that we go down the street to Motel 6 and gave me a lecture that I could be arrested if I were caught walking around without an ID. My family members are US citizens born and raised in California, not sure why he felt the need for the lecture.

No response from frontdesk. Breakfast was a pack-and-go: basically they had on option for muffin/bar .. nothing else. Room was still old except new flooring. Water drainage issues seen

Horrible staff

The inside of the room was clean and nice. But the corridor outside was carpeted and it smell and has a lot of stain. We checked in around 10pm. When we walked to our room on the first floor, there were many dogs barking as we passed by other rooms. After we settled into our room, we can still hear dogs barking until it finally quiet down after midnight. We checked out on 8/30/25 and we left a glass electric tea kettle in the room. We noticed the missing kettle on 9/21/25 and I called the hotel and spoke to Anil at the front desk. Anil said he did find the kettle from Rm#113 and he will leave the kettle at the front desk tomorrow (9/22/25) so that we can come by and pick it up since we will be in that neighborhood. We went by the hotel around 9pm, Anil was off his shift, but the other guy at front desk said he was not told of any kettle need to be picked up. I had a back surgery on 9/23/25 and did not follow up this matter until 9/26/25. When I finally got hold of Anil on Friday (9/26/25), he told me he made a mistake. He actually did not find a water kettle in the room. It just sounds fishy. First he said he had it, then he said no. I think he is trying to cover up something. They should have contacted me the day I checked out when they found I left the kettle behind. It was a very nice product which I kind of missed. I think they are not honest people and ripped off my kettle.
