"Don’t stay here!"

I know the location is convenient however this hotel is trash. While moving our daughter in over the weekend we had to lift up the toilet and press the pump down to flush, the comforters were filthy, and the tv randomly stopped working. When I tell you we will NEVER stay here, I mean it. All of this and we were offered two breakfast vouchers. If I could give zero stars I would but I had to rate in order to write the review. Run!!!! Don’t walk!! Find somewhere else to stay.

We are staying at this hotel for the second time and we love it! Clean, comfortable, quiet, and safe. Close to ISU. We will stay here again.

"Poor restaurant service."

All in all ok, but the service in the restaurant in the morning was terrible. Had to wait for half hour for coffee, then waitress lost our order, and tried to get it again without the menu. We drank our late coffee and went to a real restaurant.

This is a great place to stay if you’re in Ames. We found the room to be large, furniture and bed was comfortable. It’s very quiet and other guests were very pleasant. They have a unique shower head and provide directions-which are helpful. Parking is close to the entrance.

Check in was wonderful. We had booked with a different hotel amd ran into issue after issue with them. We canceled that hotel and booked last minute with Gateway and realized that it should have been our 1st choice. From Travis at reception to the cooks and waitstaff at the restaurant. It was wonderful. Comfy beds, great pool and hot tub, divine restaurant. The Gateway was booked solid but it almost seemed like we had the hotel to ourselves. A quiet late dinner at the Iowa Stater, a relaxing soak in the hot tub. Quiet hallways. I wish every hotwl way like this. 10 out of 10 recommend!!!

The bathrooms had good ventilation so that the bathroom did not get steamy after a shower! Nice mirrors with good lighting. Newly renovated and clean rooms. I will definitely stay here again.
