ANEW Resort Wilderness Garden Route

Grundsätzlich macht es einen guten Eindruck und grundsätzlich könnte es gut sein, aber...

Wir hatten wohl richtig Pech gehabt. Das Hotel war zu 90% mit Jugendlichen belegt, die dort wohl von der Schule aus ein Feriencamp hatten. Sorry, aber da steht "Hotel and Resort" und nicht Jugendherberge!!! Die meisten Zimmer haben 4 Betten / Hochbetten und sind wohl auf solche Fahrten eingestellt. Das ging nirgends hervor. Es war unfassbar laut, alle haben sich daneben benommen, ich konnte mit meinen Kindern kaum schlafen. Teilweise hatten sie sogar Angst gehabt, weil die Türen geschmissen wurden und über den Flur gebrüllt wurde. Am nächsten Tag hab ich gesehen, dass ein Fenster kaputt gehauen wurde. Zu meinem Pech ist das Glas auf meinen Mietwagen gefallen. Ich habe am Abend noch nach einem anderen Zimmer gefragt, leider war es aber in allen Fluren gleich schlimm. Am nächsten Tag hab ich die Fotos vom Glas und Mietwagen gezeigt, über die schreckliche Nacht berichtet und wollte wirklich eine Entschädigung dafür. Mich hat der Aufenthalt dennoch 2850 Rand / 140 Euro gekostet. Mir kam man nicht entgegen. Mit gar keinem Angebot! Ich bin absolut sauer und möchte hier jeden warnen, sich vorher entweder ein Bild vor Ort zu machen oder doch lieber auszuweichen.

This is a beautiful hotel surrounded by the lush beauty of the western cape in close walking distance to a choice of wonderful restaurants cafes and facilities. There is a lovely pool and the entrance hall is spectacularly beautiful. This hotel should score 5 and has the potential to be extraordinary. However, despite a decent sized room with lovely views and a terrace, the air con in our room was inadequate, the safe wasn't working, and the room smelled of damp. There were patches all over the walls where it was obvious maintenance had highlighted areas that need repainting, but nothing had been done about it. We also stopped off at the bar after visiting a local restaurant, and the bartender was nothing but curt and rude to us for no reason. Terrible service. Lots of potential with this place but closer attention to detail required by management to elevated experience.

The beds are to short - it is very uncomfortable sleeping with your feet hanging off the bed. We were placed in a room between a group of teenagers on tour - we were not informed. The water was cold the morning when we had to finish to continue our trip. I did report it at reception. Although we booked for 3 people, we only had towels for 2 - thinking if you know we are 3 people in the room, why not have towels for 3 ... We were not impressed with the hotel at all.
