Hotel Canata Kyoto

I’m torn a bit about this property. It has a great location across from Niko Castle and really close to the Nijojo-mae Station so it makes getting around easy. The staff is great and the place is nice and clean. My only complaint is that there was a serious lack of adequately bright lighting. There are plenty of light sources, but they’re all like 20 watt bulbs. Everything was dim, especially the bathroom. It was to the point where I was having difficulty shaving. Aside from that I enjoyed my stay there.

My girlfriend and I recently stayed at the Canata Hotel in Kyoto and had an overall wonderful experience. The hotel offered an excellent atmosphere and great service throughout our stay. The amenities and facilities were top-notch, and we thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance of the hotel. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, making our stay even more pleasant. However, the only downside we encountered was the lighting in the room, which was quite dim. It made it a bit challenging to navigate comfortably in the evenings. Nevertheless, everything else about our stay was fantastic. The location was convenient, the service was impeccable, and the hotel's ambiance was charming. Overall, the Canata Hotel provided a lovely experience, and we would recommend it to others visiting Kyoto."

Small luxury design hotel in front of Nijo castle and very well located. The rooms are very modern in an amazing design style. The bed and pillows are amazing and very comfortable. Staff are very nice and helpful. While hôtel can get expensive in Japan, Canata hotel was very affordable for the quality it offers. I have no hesitation giving this hotel a full rating and recommending it to anyone traveling to Kyoto.

Lovely hotel! Great location close to the subway, across from Nijo castle. Staff is friendly and the hotel was nice and clean. We had a great time and wished we could’ve stayed longer. Would definitely stay here again!!

A lovely stay in Kyoto Overall I really enjoyed my stay, the pillows were a little harder than what I'm used to, but I've very particular with my pillows so I can't mark them down for it The rooms were a bit dark, but with the lamps on its fine The bar was really nice and we poribably drank too much sake! I wish they would give more tea rather than just the one everyday The bathroom was lovely and the location can't be beat. Bit strange they make you watch an introduction to the hotel on an ipad, but it probably saves you asking questions later on? I'd definitely come back if I stay in Kyoto again.

I have traveled the world my whole life. I know what hospitality should look and feel like. Angel at Canata epitomizes ABSOLUTE EXCELLENCE! He is knowledgeable and naturally hospitable. It’s a joy to interact and engage with him. He made our trip even better than I expected. WE WILL BE BACK!!!!

We stayed in their suite as our honeymoon. We were welcome by the view of Nijo castle when walking into the room. The room is spacious with a gigantic King size bed (looks way bigger than the usual king size), bath tub and the deck. Hotel staff was very helpful and they arranged our dinner reservation which turned out to be one of the best food we have eaten on this trip. The location was perfect for sightseeing but away from the tourist craziness so we could enjoy the quietness and peach at night. We would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful hotel, great staff and service! My partner and I stayed here for a couple nights while traveling around Kyoto. The location was perfect and the level of service was exceptional. The hotel is very modern and clean and you can tell everything was very thoughtfully designed/equipped. Everyday our room was cleaned and restocked with fresh towels and amenities. The staff was extremely helpful with translating and booking anything we needed. I would definitely book again if I'm ever in the area and would highly recommend it to anyone.

A lovely boutique hotel, convenient for Nijo-jo castle, transport options and some good food within walking distance.
