Extended Stay America Select Suites - Columbia - Gateway Drive

They advertise “fully equipped kitchens” but there wasn’t a Single dish, pan, utensil or anything in the bare cabinets. The roof was so musty my eyes watered and I sneezed 6 times upon entering the room. I didn’t stay the second night I paid for and the front desk was closed so I couldn’t even complain about it. Terrible facility. Never going they again.

Hotel called us at 10pm to tell us that they were cancelling the prepaid reservation. Told me that they didn't want me to waste my time coming to the hotel. Poor hotel management.

It was in a convenient location, and the staff were pleasant and helpful.

The room was dingy with carpets and furniture that were not very clean, in need of refurbishment. There were a number of people who appeared to be living there, rather than using it as holiday accommodation, which is what we expected. There was a lot of noise at night, requiring the use of earplugs to sleep. Whilst it offered a kitchenette there was nothing apart from the actual appliances in the room, so was effectively useless. The room itself smelt musty. We checked out a day early.

Upon Arrival we were given a LONG LIST of RULES and PURCHASES. THEY CHARGE EXTRA TO EXCHANGE FOR CLEAN LINEN, HOUSEKEEPING (if you're not staying for 14 days), trash pickup and MORE!!! You get 1 Towel and 1 Washcloth. The kitchenette is OUTDATED with cigarette burns on the counter, chairs. NO BREAKFAST OFFERED or BREAKFAST Nook (EVERY OTHER EXTENDED STAY offers a MUFFINS, GRANOLA, COFFEE, TEA, OATMEAL). This one refers you to LOCAL restaurants. EXTENDED STAY NEED/SHOULD REMOVE THIS PARTICULAR "HOTEL" from their Name. Make it a "MOTEL 7" 😉 only because it has a large Kitchenette

The room was a nice size, kitchen and beds were comfortable

To have a non smoking room and the people above from us were smoking, which was coming from the vent from the bathroom which was getting inside the space of the bedrooms.

That it was clean and had friendly staff

I wish they had king size beds

No breakfast items.

:) Clean throughout, refrigerator worked well, nice water pressure No kitchenware or flatware in unit, only 2 plastic cups in bath. I wish that was disclosed to us before booking.
