Holiday Inn Express - Atlanta-Kennesaw by IHG

The property was under rennovations and we were not aware.....wet paint with no signage in the stairway, elevators down several times, mold in the bathrooms.

Wasn’t made aware that the elevator wasn’t in working condition. So half of the time we were there I had to take stairs which not to mention from the 6th floor. My mother also has a bone disease and some days it’s hard on her knee so that took a toll on her with not being able to use the elevators so not real Handicap Accessible place this past weekend. Black Mold underneath the bathroom sink. Then my 4 year old was walking in front of me which was one of the stair events not knowing where the wet paint may be without signage posted he grabbed the rail and got his jacket covered in paint. After all of this I went to the front desk and voiced how frustrating this stay was for not only me but my family and the manager agreed to load 5,000 points to my account which isn’t really equivalent to a one night stay. I’m home now 8 hours away only to look at my account and I have 2,000 points what a slap in the face…..

Everything was good, except the elevator wasn’t working when we left. Took us up to the sixth floor and we had to carry all of our things down from there.

Trouble checking in. Said my master card didn't work. I paid thru Orbitz with an American Express. Whole ordeal for 30 minutes. Manager said employee named Lisa tried to raise my rate. Not fun. Late for my meeting. Not very happy about it

Facility is currently undergoing extensive upgrades. The common areas and staff are very nice.

Ownership did not disclose the property was undergoing renovation. Did not prepare their staff to speak to guests about this inconvenience. Elevators were in and out of service. Wasn’t acknowledged upon approaching the front desk. Shortened our stay after one night.

Hotel was under remodel so some mess was expected. But main bathroom had not been cleaned in hours. Lobby had trash on the floors. Needed daily cleaning in the midst of remodel!

Arrived at the property to check in and was told that they were overbooked and had no rooms, I paid for the hotel one week previous. The hotel receptionist was not interested in helping but after me demonstrating that I paid for the hotel one week before, showing payment had left by bank, they then found a room for us (2 x queen bed room). The whole experience was bizarre, had no rooms then find us one after over 20mins! Would never stay at this hotel again
