Best Western Sycamore Inn

Avoid this Best Western if you can! I recently stayed here in October and had a horrible experience. The hotel has roaches, and to make matters worse, they refused to refund me! I booked directly through Best Western and repeatedly pressed for my refund, but all I received was $25 off my stay. To add insult to injury, my number was blocked, and I couldn’t get in touch with the manager. She consistently dodged my calls and only responded via email, offering a free stay at the same hotel. But who would risk bringing roaches home?! One of the roaches even crawled out of the fridge in my room. Picture will be below!

Our stay at Best Western was good. The amenities at the hotel are actually very accommodating. This stay has a gym, a pool, and breakfast in the morning. The front desk staff were very helpful. Prior to check in they allowed us to leave our bags up front until room was ready. They also got us checked in early as well. The room was very large and was decorated very tastefully. I liked the incorporation of the northern Illinois landmarks into the wall art. The room was also very clean too. There were a couple items that had shown a little age, but it was nothing other than a little wear and tear. The lighting in the hallways appeared to be a little dim as well but it didn't affect the stay at all. This hotel is placed right near several dining and shopping centers which is kinda of an added bonus if you like shopping. We would definitely stay here again in the future

Property was clean the staff was nice. The elevator needs service and also needed to be mopped and the floor in my room had dips and made noise when you walked. Sound like the floor was going to cave in. But it was a clean room and staff was nice.

One of the best free breakfasts i have had at a hotel. Clean room and good mattress and felt lucky i did NOT get a big fat pillow. The checking was easy and quick.

The location was convenient to the activity that I was there participating in. The facility was clean and well kept. The bed was super comfortable. The included breakfast was fresh, hot and delicious.

The hotel charged my card for the full amount the day before I checked in, which I didn't mind, but when I arrived the next day, the hotel charged my card again for the full amount saying it would drop off 3-4 days after I checked out. I understand holding an amount for incidentals, but not the entire cost of the room. This is holding up my funds that I'm not happy about. When I approached the desk, the clerk was yelling and cussing to someone on the phone which was not very professional for guest to hear.
