Holiday Inn Express Washington by IHG

My mom and I stayed at this hotel for my son's wedding weekend. They had probably the best post-Coronavirus hotel breakfast I have seen, other than Embassy Suites (but that was a 30 minute wait). The hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Bed was soft, and room was very dark at nighttime and sunrise with the blinds pulled shut. Across the street or very close to a lot of restaurants.

I would give this a zero rating if I could. I travel for work quite a bit and can put up with a lot when it comes to no-frills hotels. But this one is just filthy. I was in three different rooms in under 24 hours. The first one reeked of mold so badly I couldn't even stay in it. In the second room I found 3 ticks in the other bed of my double room. In addition, the carpet was damp for reasons unknown to me, but gross. At no time did anyone check in with me to see if room #3 was ok. I checked out early and cancelled the other reservations for the rest of my family because the manager refused to enforce the current mask mandate. Not only is she just a rude individual, she refused to give me her boss' contact information when I asked for it, something that is standard in the hospitality industry. Clearly they do not care about the health & well-being of their guests. Do yourself a favor and just book at another hotel. Even driving over from Vincennes would be a better option.

I enjoyed my two night stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Washington. The room was clean, the staff was super friendly and helpful. We had one small problem and it was corrected immediately. The breakfast was very good and the location was great. You are near the interstate, about 2 miles or less, but off the beaten path making it a quit place to be.

After driving up from Evansville, I went to check in close to midnight. The front desk had no record of my reservation but quickly got me checked in. Hotel was quiet and staff was helpful. One of the best options to stay while in Washington.

I spent the night while traveling between my home and family. The room was clean, beds were super comfortable so I was able to get a good night’s sleep. Breakfast options were good even though I was there midweek, not on a weekend. Staff was friendly and very helpful. The couple in front of me had questions about the area and the desk clerk took her time to be sure they had everything they needed. Will gladly stop again when traveling in this area.

Not clean, evidence of rough treatment by customers on furnishings. Beat up doors to rooms. Dirty gross chairs. Disinterest by staff. Avoid if you can. Not many choices locally but best to keep driving

I'm from this town, so it pains me to see this or say it, the smell was horrid. It smelled like someone was trying to hide smells of urine and filth by overspraying with baby powder scented Febreze. It was revolting, we couldn't sleep at all, the ac cranked all the way down, opening window, nothing helped. There was what appeared to be pubic hair in the bathroom. The pillows were all the overly huge ones, the sheets were at least clean. Had I bothered to read the reviews perhaps I'd have stayed away and saved myself the experience. I'll stay elsewhere until this is addressed. This is the kind of stuff you expect at a lesser accommodation, not the Holiday Inn Express or otherwise. We literally left after 3 hours, the offer of "would you like another room wouldn't have sufficed this place is in my opinion left to ruin" The cleaning staff was outside smoking, the attitude just doesn't scream "Come back soon" to me and my family. For 120 dollars a night, I expect, no I demand better. So should you.

We stayed at this hotel during a recent vacation stop in Washington. The evening desk clerk was a very nice young gentleman who was very polite and helpful. The hotel was a typical chain, nothing extraordinary. I thought it was pricey. In fact, it turned out to be the most expensive hotel of our trip that even included a nice Hyatt Regency! The room was comfortable, and the breakfast buffet filling. The only down side was when I wanted to check out. No one was at the desk! I called out, and still no one came. I looked around the breakfast area, down the hallways, no one. After waiting about 10 minutes, a lady walks in from outside, and said, oh! I didn't know you were here! Turns out she was outside smoking. REALLY!?!

The hotel is a bit dated but clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful and the breakfast selection was good. The breakfast area is a little small, and was crowded when we were here. Will stay here again.

This hotel gets two stars only because of the helpful staff. They were accommodating and considerate. I actually felt sorry for them having to deal with the condition of the hotel. This is the most outdated holiday inn Express I think we've ever stayed in. Shame on the owners for not investing some money into repairs. The hotel lobby, pool, breakfast area is badly in need of paint and cleaning. The rooms are not much better. Lots of stains every where. No hot water the entire day we were there. We spoke with other guests and they said the same thing. They also said, "good luck getting any one to care." But we're not blaming staff on this one. This is owner driven neglect.
