Rose Cottage

Property is well situated in Elterwater right near the pub and cafe and bus stop. Property was well stocked with crockery etc.

The check-in time is late at 4pm and the check out time is exceptionally early at 9am. We requested a later check out and were told no as the cleaner was coming in. We went for a walk and came back to the property later and the cleaner had not arrived. There was no hand soap provided in either of the bathrooms or kitchen (or any toiletries) so you need to bring some soap!

Location is perfect

Mattress is not up to scratch for that price. Cutlery and Crockery is cheap IKEA quality. For what I paid and what I got it was too expensive. Parking is only possible for a very small car.

Quiet quint location, with modern amenities. Simple thing like a bath for the kids what a lovely touch!

Little bit chilly, in some rooms overnight.

The setting, log fire, rustic charm. Just a typical old country cottage.

Despite my love of the low doorways I did bang my head. That's it, basically.

I like the location and the size of the house.

Lovely period cottage in a wonderful location, all the facilities that you’ll need for a long or short break, ideally located with lots of walks in the area and a great pub next door!

Lovely location, next to the pub, all as described, good locations for Buxton trip and local walks.

Main downside - Hot water pressure useless, especially for washing up! V minor points - Could have less clutter in the bedrooms. Small bottles of oil/condiments would be amazing for cooking. Some.more up to date Peak District walking books would be useful.
